Where do I get OEM parts...

without the dealer gouge? I'm talking factory brake pads and rotors, pollen filters, engine air filters, the usual stuff.

And, what's the going rate for brake pads and rotors for an '09 C63 without Performance Package?

Oh, they were cheaper than MSRP, but a rotor was still nearly $500 and a caliper was around $600. That's pretty steep. I could see the caliper being pricey but the rotor's basically just a machined hunk of metal. That first brake job's gonna be a tough swallow.

you didn't really think that our huge rotors were gonna be cheap did you? nothing on a 70k car is gonna be cheap. but you won't need new rotors when you change your brake pads

Never for a second did I think they'd be cheap. I just didn't think they'd be $700! I also find it strange that the performance package brake pads are less expensive than the non performance package.

Anyone here have enough miles to need a brake job yet? If so, at what mileage?

Had to change brake pads and sensors at about 18k miles. It was around $700 with my mechanic... Dealer would of been like 1k

+1 for parts.com

best prices I've found, quick (but pricey) shipping.

Since you're in Huntington Beach, I'd suggest you go to Hyevon Motors (www.hyevonmotors.com) in Huntington. They're one of the little gems of a shop several local MB guys go for all work, maintenance, and repair without dealership gouging and dealership parts markup. Ask for Serg or Jon.

Thanks. I'll check them out. I really don't want to do my own brakes anymore, but the excessive labor charges **** me off enough to get out the wrenches when it comes pad and rotor time.

The prices at www.parts.com are pretty good. Just want to double check, these are for OEM parts? I'm looking to replace the front brake pads, rotors and sensor.

parts.com is OEM. If you create an account and send them a message with your VIN they will give you part #'s and prices if you are unsure.
