ECU flash question, considering eurocharged.
eurocharged has to good deal running this week, 50% off and i am considering it.
before i make the jump, can any one who has done this flash tell me how the like it , or not....
pro's / cons
what about warranty issues related to the flash, if any, should this risk be taken in consideration or does this flash has an option to change the setting when turned in to the dealer ship for service etc. thats what i used to have on one of my previous cars an audi A6 2.7tt which had a flash that had to option to set back to stock with one of the steering wheel stalks and then return to FLASHED after return from the dealership.
i have a 2009 with only 10K mls and plenty of warranty as i bought it CPO'd.
thanks for any input you may have.

i've had mine and my dealership knows i have it now since i had to tell them not to update or reflash the ecu... or else my tune would be gone...
they can only deny warranty on things that were directly caused by the new tune, and this they would have to prove
since the tune i can say it definitely made the car stronger, more responsive, and the speed limited is removed without a doubt

keep in mind to tune the c63 the ecu box has to be opened via a heat gun and jumper cables have to be connected to the eprom to reflash it. the ecu cannot be reflashed via the OBDII port.

Gains really vary much from post to post. Both vary from 30 RWHP gains to 60 RWHP gains, a huge difference.
thanks

I am happy with mine especially knowing that it was significantly cheaper than the others. I believe it is is not the hardest tune but it work for me.
Check out the mile run I went to last March. http://topgunrun.com/
Dad's and Raleighc63 were there.
Obviously Dad's has serious mods and he ran 180mph. Raleigh's car was like mine and the only mod we had was a tune.
He had MHP if I remember correctly and his best was 172 and mine was 168. This rocked as this was better than new CTS-Vs, M3 and M6 and same as one Nissan GTR, Turbo 2005 Viper and 997 Turbo.
he also had opened his airboxes and I did not.
Jerry is a very responsive guy and will answer all your questions.

Pretty close to K1. Vegas_AMG was within a few HP (single digit) and lbs of TQ of my K1. Don't remember the exact numbers when be both dyno'd the same day. Not sure if the difference were from the K&N and "ROW" box tops; if they show up on a dyno.

The eurocharged price is good but if you're going to do a different tune later on, it's a thinker...
I might skip it, behave and wait until next summer. I'm pretty sure good deals will come by this winter (anybody said long tubes and tune!?)

The numbers, at 2,000' altitude with crap 91 octane in 4th gear were: 415.44 hp and 372.82 tq.
The car had an easy 3,100 miles on it at the time. Since then I know the car is now performing better with more power as I've put 4,500 miles on the tune and the engine/trany don't "feel" as tight.
I think what the OP is experiencing is the built-in adaptive programming, but that is just a guess on my part. Sometimes I do feel a slight hesitation but its not alway present, totally liveable.
I've seen 20 mpg on 2-round trips to So Cal on the highway including some hard runs, the car IMHO is performing topnotch!!
Get the tune or reflash you won't be disappointed.
SIN, maybe we need to dyno again......................

I think the OP is more concern about the dealer finding out on the tune that the tune gains itself. The OP having an Audi which can change back to stock I completely understand his mind set(I am the same way), I also have a VW GLI that has a hand held flash loader that can go back to stock if needed without worries.
I think the vast majority of us are dreaming for a cheap tuner that can provide such a tune that could be retun to stock factory seting. We know Rentech has it (RAT) but it is soo expensive. I would have my reservations as well.

reflash
i talked to Jerry and i have decided to go for it. he told me that the reflash has all the latest possible software updates included. if there are warranty issues related to the flash and the dealer knows they have to prove it. since Jerry is local in houston he told me that if for some reason i loose the tune due to an update at the dealership he will come by and reflash my ecu. since i dont track my car and only put 4Kmls per year on my car i feel comfortable to go ahead with the tune.
i will keep you all posted about the experience.

I think I'm going the Eurocharged route too. Kleemann was a close second but AFAIK Eurocharged delivers similar performance for a fraction of the price.

ecu flash eurocharged
well i did it and i am very happy with it. Jerry is a very knowledgeable guy and he suggested we would meet at Lawell in houston. took about and 1.5 hrs. the butt dyno tells me that above 4K rpm i definitely have an extra 40-50 ponies available. i have not had a lot of chances to rip it up but a did a few runs upto about 120 mls/hr and could definitely feel the beast had grown to be a wild beast. he also told me that if there are issues he still has the original OEM specs on his laptop and if the dealer so happens to erase the tune he will come by and re-tune for free. great service!
