Primary Cat Delete - Where are we?

Super/GTPro was working on a Primary Cat Delete. Is this still underway? Is anyone else working on a solution? I have a Kleeman tune since December and Cory tuned it to ensure no CELs upon the cat delete...just waiting to get rid of those kittens....

Zzzzzzz, zzzzzzzzzz

I'm moving forward with the project one way or another. I will have a solution in place before July 17th. Stay tuned.

From the sound of it, doesn't seem like Brian/GT Pro is working on anything like previously thought. I wonder if someone makes a DP with either a 100 cell or 200 cell primary cat will make gains or not?

Don't expect significant gains with cats inline.

His mama. Traded y0 mama in because she was squeaking.
Just gut the catalyst out of the damned things and you'll be fine, especially since Kleemann turned off the rear O2 sensors.

Certainly a thought...slippery slope though. If I went this route, I'd like to get a hold of another stock set and gut those out so I always have a "legal" set. But then if I did that, I might as well take it to an exhaust shop and have them build the real full straight pipes from the template. I think an exhaust shop would do this, but none will touch the car...hence the current dilemma.

I wonder how much MB would charge for the stock pipes that connect the manifolds to the resonator (i.e. 4 cats)??

We'll see what angle Superlubricity is working and see if it can be duplicated. Super, if you find a guy to build these, PM me if I can help in any way or help offset some costs for a solution by making a second set.

MY buddies C63 has the primary cats gone long time ago and now he is tunning a Gintani/OEtuning stage 2 file no CEL and its been about 3 months now the car runs great and produces some really good power.

here is a clip of his car http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y1SssOI2Xi8

and here is another one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QESX07DvmpM

he did 60-130 in 9.7sec with only a drop in exhaust and a tune.

pretty impressive if you as me. Today he just got R888 on his car.

and we are going out to make some Comparo runs with MKB power package.

Eugene: was it a custom job for primary cat delete?
We are all interested in waiting for a vendor to come thru with a reasonably price option.

I don't know what is a reasonable price. Maybe a vendor will jump on this.

but yes it was a custom job. And the shop takes orders of 5 set at a time as well.

but I think at the end of the day the tune that works well with the exhaust set up is one to use. (in my mind)

I have played with and studied hard about exhaust systems on my M3 actually I have gone through 4 sets of exhaust in 1 yrs.

and I found the main thing that makes power is the x-pipe and C63 set is very similar to the M3 so basically with my friends C63 I help him designed the header back system of the x-pipe and diameter of the exhaust piping.

mind you that all the awesome results comes from OEtuning and a exhaust that still keeps secondary cats. 200cells

I know what most people think stuff that is made in asia are not as good quality but honestly most things that I have seen that are sold to North America and Europe all come from Taiwan. I guess Taiwan is known for sub-contracting.

that's just my 2cents

One of the biggest differences between your exhaust and ours is in the exhaust manifolds. We have a "log" style while you guys have a beautiful set of matched-length shorty headers.

Why would AMG do that? I want to know the answer to that question.
