Here's the sunroof assembly out. Weighed in at 33 pounds. More to come.
Dave said the roof skin may come off as early as this afternoon!! I can't wait!! Will have more pics then IF its off.

wow....this is the most radical mod for your C63!! You guys really have cojones to do this surgery!! hehehe
It will be very interesting how much total weight reduction can be gained with the Carbon roof, hood and trunk combined!

None fast enough!
FYI, we have done CF roof's for many cars - BMW, Porsche and C63 and CLK63.

All the structural supports stays in place. All we removed was the sunroof assembly and the thin skin top. Everything stays which you can see in the pics. Since the new top is all one carbon fiber piece its actually more rigid than the stock top with the sunroof. Less roof flex. She'll be done by the middle of next week!!!

The total weight savings is just over 40# and that's right off the very top of the car. Will definitely move the center of gravity down and therefore improve the handling. Can't wait to try her out road racing!!
