I feel for all the fools that paid more then 54k for the C63. Now the car is worth maybe 45k.

I am not here to sugar coat nothing. I speak only the truth. My car has taken a hit too. So I sow what I preach. Try and sell your car now and you will know where I got the 45k from. Also this is not the first time I have warned buyers about paying more then 54k for this awesome car. This car as great as it is, is depreciating faster then a roller coaster. Now wake up and smell the coffee.

2009 C63. Paid 52K. 68XXX MSRP. 10K miles. I just got an offer for 50K.

No one asked you to sugar coat anything. Because you got trunk money in 2009 doesnt make you smart. It makes you lucky. So calling people fools is not called for.

The depreciation is only temporary. Last year the incentives were just as large and a month ago I couldn't get a used one for under $53K. As soon as all of the new cars are gone, the used values will come up and stabilize. Fool? Hmm, I guess I'll consider the source.

+1. Who ever this j*rk is you should seriously consider some respect for how you talk to forum members and how you refer to them as. No one asked for your opinion and no one appreciates you ranting or claiming how brilliant you are. I got a great deal too, but you don't see me typing away bragging about it or calling other great forum members fools...

Sounds like you must be a really young, immature, disrespectful pri*k or else you wouldn't come here tooting off like that.

Who reallu cares what you know, or what you paid, or how you think you are "warning" other members. People can do thier research and we can all try to help...

What the hell is a "good" deal anyway?????
We all pay what we think it's worth. We do our homework and in the end its all about timing, how bad we want it, and maybe a tad bit of luck. If you got the car below MSRP and maybe a bit over invoice it's all fine and dandy. Life goes on. This forum is to help and educate. It doesn't mean we all end up with the same deal or experience...

Well, it's not any great secret that AMG's depreciate like the proverbial lead balloon. The trunk money available causes prices to be volatile for awhile, but they may come up a bit after, and the downward trend doesn't continue at that sharp of a decline... at least until a replacement C-AMG is near. Being able to buy a brand new '11 for mid 50's will mean used '10s sell below that, which is common sense.

Regardless, it's likely in the future that a 3-4 year old, 25-30k mile C63 will go for $35k-38k. IMHO. Just the way it is for AMGs; and the higher they start, the harder they fall... if history is any indication.

What about when I warned members not to pay any more then 54k on the car and I was laughed at? I was trying to help members save money but it all fell on deaths ears. Who are the jerks and fools now? Seriously, if anyone pays more then 54k for the car then you deserve to get hammered and should feel like a P*ick after all the warnings you got from me! All AMG cars have taken such a hit, it's not even funny! Even the 2010 E63 you can easily get 25k off.

Better take them up on that offer then. Cause they are over paying you. You should feel lucky you got another fool to pay more then what it's worth.

The depreciation is not temporary. You would be foolish to think like that. Go to a dealer and see what they offer you on your car! I have the NADA price guide to back up all my statements. Whoever thinks that prices will stabilize on the old cars have another thing coming when u can get a new one for under 53k now. Once you drive a 53k car off the lot u will easily loose another 15-20% just by having the car registered in your name. That's how it always worked and will continue to do so in the foreseeable future. Even the rarer Nissan GTR's are being discounted by 10k in some dealers. If anybody here thinks any new car is a investment then you should have your head examined.

You warned members not to pay more than 54K after you got lucky and paid 53K. So because you got lucky you now feel you are some kind of omnipotent genius. Please show me a post prior to the 14K in rebates in 2009 where you stated "You are a fool is you buy a C63 for more than 54K"

A quick glance to your post history shows you are just a forum troll. Other than stirring the pot in every thread I really see no purpose to you being here. Mod's should take notice and ban you already.

"Deaths Ears." Illiterate much?

In any case I just got 11K off and am absolutely delighted. I would have been happy with 10K, this car is phenomenal.

Remember, one of the main reasons that Mercs in general and AMG's specifically depreciate so fast is because of the Chrysler junk produced from 2000-2006. Mercs rep is still recovering from that. The truth is that new cars like the C 63 and the E series are now very reliable and the market should eventually reflect that fact.

I plan of keeping both of my Mercs for a long time, anyway.

Guys don't feed the troll, he'll go away soon enough. Prices are market sensitive and adjusted according to the simple law of supply and demand. He must be living in the middle of Iowa a big AMG stonghold.

First time I've ever heard that given as the reason AMG's depreciate so quickly... although MB quality/reliability during the Daimler-Chrysler period wasn't best in class and has been improved since then, I think it's perhaps only a minor contributing factor.

IMHO, C63 depreciation from sticker will likely be roughly the same as historical AMG experiences; might even be greater if they keep offering major new vehicle incentives and if persistent economic/market forces drag on sales. That said, those who have purchased opportunistically (like yourself) will likely mitigate much of the "paper" hit observed in the first couple of years... lessening the psychological sting. It's all academic anyway if you keep 'em and drive the wheels off.

IMO anytime you have a faster model of any class car that model will depreciate like crazy.

Like it or not a C63 is a C class car on crack. So your taking an already cheap car and inflating its price by adding performance. MB does this with all its models. Thus the reason AMG depreciates so quickly. Go get yourself into a 2006 195K S65 tomorrow for 60K. Its 1/3 of its value because its an AMG. A 90K S class of the same year sells for about 1/2 its value.

AMG is an enthusiast only vehicle. The regular buyer could care less.

I got mine for $54,533 (which includes TT&L) back on Aug 2009. I then got an additional rebate of $1000 from USAA for being a service member.

Here's my post.
