Bought too soon... story of my life...

Well, a month ago $53K for a slightly experienced (9K mi) 09 C63 with MM, P2, iPod, AMG leather package and CPO seemed pretty damn good. Car was mint, and I mean mint. I love the car. Price was the best I could find anywhere for a mint car with almost no miles.

Well, now that the so-called "trunk money" has arrived it seems that today I could have gotten a brand new 2010 for basically the same price. Fletcher Jones in Newport Beach has a Mars Red 2010 with everything I have in my car, plus rearview camera and keyless go, that I'd love to own. That Mars Red is impressive. Sand interior with black carpets. Made them an offer that apparently they can refuse! But they have it sitting there, along with 4 black ones, for the lucky customer who is ready to pull the trigger on the best deal around.

Good luck guys. Moral to the story? Wait until mid July to buy your next MB!

Well, you can always look at it from that perspective....but you just never know. At least you didn't have to pay the 2,100 gas guzzler tax.

The deals will get even better in August and/or when they announce the replacement to the C63 , which may be the TT 5.5. In the meantime, drive it and enjoy it!!

Oh, I'm not buying it. I can't. Their price wasn't good enough for me to trade my just-purchased 09 for the new car. As you say, I paid $4K in taxes on my '09 and that money is gone. They offered me $45K for my '09.

And in the end, as soon as all the '10's are gone and the trunk money has been spent, the used prices will stabilize again just as they did last year. For now, I'm just going to enjoy the ride.

What I like!
Having CPO is a big plus, look at it that way!

I sure would love to pick up a new P31 at $15K off. But it would basically require me to give them my car (paid for) plus write a check for $30K... $30K for a P31.... !! I got the Kleemann tune and

Hindsight's always 20/20.

At least you didn't have to endure the break-in period.

I feel your pain but at least from the sounds of it, you have a really nice 09.

Have fun with it and enjoy it to its fullest!

IDK, but after I witnessed the P31 on the dyno last weekend, 425 whp, stock, plus those upgraded internals....I'd go for that. That P31 could have some awesome potential, especially with a pulley, long tubes, x pipe, etc....Go for it! Plus, it'll be a new car!

Commmon guys...

I have been dwelling a lot recently over whether to trade in my 09 and move up to a 10 and and I am keeping my 09 becuase:

1. Price difference not worth it
2. No MAJOR changes, same engine and only 1 major cosmetic thing, the mirrors which I like my 09s better (call me crazy I dont care)
3. Same interior
4. I already paid taxes and little fees here and there so it's a done deal
5. I have clear bra'd mine (3K already)
6. I have babied mine and bought new anyways
7. ITS THE SAME CAR!
8. I don't really care about push button start, for me its "turning" the engine on to make it come alive
9. Don't really need a rearview camera. Who cares...
10. I think 09 was a good build year, few problems
11. You get killed in the depreciation already so why pay more into it? Just keep what you have (unless you wipe your *** with hundreds then what are you doing with a C63 anyway...)

Don't look back! Guys with 09s and 08s: ITS THE SAME CAR. Yeah little changes here and there but be happy with what you have. Waiting in 08 or 09 for an 10 or 11 would have drained me...

The whole moving up to p31 package, now that's a different story. If you feel all those extras are worth it, go for it. More power to ya...

Don't think that way HBC350, or else you will never be happy with what you drive... the new 2010 with trunk money deal will not be so appealing in few weeks from now... when the 2011 will be out (with few cosmetics changes)... then you will say, why I didn't wait for the 2011... and so on & on for years to come!

I bought my car at the same time as your, and I didn't hesitate a bit knowing their might be trunk money in July in Canada... I didn't care, I wanted my car now, and with the option I wanted... not discounted car with the remaining in stock that have been sitting in the lot for many months (I'm very picky with the colour & options though).

Enjoy your car, and forget about the money you spent on it. Forget about what you could have gotten.

This is play time, and being a car enthusiast, you should expect to spend lots of money. We are completely aware that we will lose money when buying a car. A newer car, will always present itself, which can be better for the same money...but who cares. If you are so worried about that, you will never be able to buy a car!

The way I see it, you pay for the enjoyment of the car. Just enjoy it and make your money well worth it!

I asked my sales guy about trading in for a P31 2010, and he said to wait till next summer when you can order the 2011 coupe, possibly with a DCT and some kind of TT.

I have a theory...

The reason why AMG depreciates so much compared to others is because of these trunk money offers...

Also, Mercedes is still haunted by the bad rep they got during the Chrysler years (2000-2006). Those cars were generally unreliable and of course Mercs are expensive to repair.

OP, don't feel too bad. Only a rare few were able to get 15K off, I got 11K, 10 if you factor in my trade in (they were 1K below my bottom line on my trade in, but made it up by taking another K off the price).

Feel your pain man. Bought a fully loaded 2010 C63 at the end of June. At least I got 4k off the sticker...10k would have been nice though. Doesn't change how much I like the car, but money is money.
