I have a 2011 C63 on order for late Aug build. I really want the HK system, but I don't want the extra bits in the multimedia package. The C300/C350 has a $810 option for the HK without the need for the outdated multimedia package bits, and the extra $2500. My sales guy says he can't do it, but I find it hard to believe. Please help, my order is almost locked!

You can do it in the uk as I have it. Only thing is you wont get dolby dts functionality without multimedia package. What do salesmen know anyhow ?

So my salesman says he is just a pencil pusher and doesn't know how to do it. Can you share how you accomplished getting the HK outside of the multimedia package? Any specific wording or language I should use to coach him?

Makes me mad that he wants his comissipn but is not helping you get what you want as a customer. Tell him you want it, to add it and make some phonecalls if necessary to confirm it can be added without multimedia.

I can't get the mbusa build configuratot for c63 to work from here but can you add it in that as an option without multimedia?

I'm fairly sure I'm not getting him to go any further unless I tell him how to do it. I really don't think he or his sales manager know any different. They checked their configurator and the option is not there and they do not know who to call. The MBUSA.COM C63 configurator does not show it as a separate option, but I see it is only partially updated to 2011 data. My wife and I both have the feeling we are at a Chevy dealer there. We have been and still are BMW drivers, and this is the first MB we will own. It hasn't started off as an improvement. I hope the standard audio is satisfactory.

Go to another dealer...Besides, I wouldn't get the car w/out the MM package, unless you plan to never sell it.

The MM package tech seems old already and easily replaced by my iPhone or iPod touch. By the time I do sell the car (5+ years), I don't think the MM package will be worth much to the resale value. I wouldn't use any of the bits other than the HK stereo.

^ Fair enough...In that case, just go aftermarket to upgrade your stereo...or find a dealer who knows what they're doing.

I was completely suprised by a call this morning from my dealer. He said he spent last week calling people at MBUSA and got to speak with someone that could help. He was able to add the upgraded stereo outside of the multimedia package. I'll have to find some nice cigars or a bottle of Scotch for the extra effort. Good timing too, my order should get locked this week.

i'll put my flame suit on and i am far away in the UK but i am suprised at your reaction (and its only my opinion)

This guy is earning $ from selling you a car
He didnt know his product
You had to come here and ask for option advice yet we are not receiving commission like he is
As a possible result, you went back and forced him to do HIS JOB and HE actually learnt something at the same time

I think it should be him buying you the scotch or the cigars

The dealership set my expectations that low, so when I got the extra effort, I was surprised. I'm sticking with this dealer because I was able to get the car ordered for a few hundred over INVOICE. I think this is a good deal for a 2011, but if it isn't, please don't tell me otherwise.
Yes, he did learn something, and thanked me because he made some good contacts at MBUSA. As a result of this exercise, it is likely that MBUSA will add the option to the order sheet so anyone here can get it in the future.

actually i had similar experience when I ordered my c63, the same saleman who my family has used in the last 20 years doesn't seem to know much at all when asked about some more details of the c63, all he could tell me was like - yep, it is powerful, it has four doors and four wheels for sure, as at that time i saw an item on the option list regarding increasing the top speed limit from 250km/hr to 280km/hr (actually i was not sure about this option item and that's why i asked him). but then he told me he couldnt help me with my Qs at all...which cant help but make me think, "stop asking too many Qs, its only HK 1.18M, just pay the damn thing and let me earn my commission..." At least he could offer to help me find out more.

Anyway, this is then when i switched to the sales ppl at the AMG studio in HK, they are much more Pro. and actually know more about the product they are selling....(just my personal opinion ).
