I did that... actually they wrote back in both Chinese & English which told me that the Seller is located oversea (hence the $15 shipping?!) It is a 'lid' over your OEM knob as they described it.

Guys,

Part arrived today. Please see pics. The piece comes as two parts - the allow sleeve that fits over your OEM i-Drive wheel toggle and the AMG emblem top piece which has 3M tape.

A few things:

1. The alloy sleeve fits right over the i-Drive wheel and is snug. It "pops" on so there is no loss of control when using the i-Drive.
2. I wanted to see if I could simply attach the emblem piece to the OEM i-Drive wheel toggle but the diameter of the AMG emblem over-hung the edge of the i-Drive wheel so I gave up on that idea.
3. Simply push on the alloy sleeve over the i-Drive and attached top emblem part.
4. For those asking about whether the logo will rotate or is stationary, its rotates as you turn the toggle.
5. The lip of new toggle over-hangs the buttons on the console itself, but not enough to be a problem.

I like it and will keep it. Cheap mod which makes a nice little touch.

To be honest I like this one more - it has more silver accents:
ttp://cgi.ebay.com/Mercedes-Benz-AMG-I-Drive-Controller-Cover-BOOT-W212-E-/280549679086?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM

EDIT: ordered it 2 minutes ago

Both are very nice.

It's just a matter of preference.

no worries...the guy maybe can't spell that well (on the other hand my Mandarin is so hot either) but he delivered the product and it was well packaged and actually better quality than I expected.

.
Are there any concerns with the black painted portion rubbing off with repeated handling?

I didn't get the feeling that it would rub of anytime soon. It was as i said before actually pretty good quality piece. Now, after continual use over long period, I am sure that it would look less "sharp" but hell for $35.00 you can't get everything.

Update - got two sets today. The AMG Black CF and Alloy AMG Colored Fruit Salad versions. Quality was ok but the screws are a bit bulky. Did temp attachment to compare side-by-side (pic attached) No issues with fitment at all. Decided to keep the AMG Black CF versions as they look better with CF lic plate holder. Cheap little mod.

I just installed mine and you are correct. It is a nice touch. Decent quality, a very tight fit and barely increases the diameter at all. Well worth the $40.
