Enjoy - I have one more I'm working on you all will enjoy also. I know there is room for improvement so don't send me your suggestions.
It was our first time at Sebring and we only had five 25 minute sessions, many of which were interrputed for one reason or another. LOL

Good driving. Any other cars there? Seems you were alone on the track!

BTW how was the engine temp with the MHP tune on the track? Any issues with overheating? 25 minutes laps are not 10 second 1/4 miles...

thanks

What other cars are running a 2:37 to give some perspective?

I believe Peugeot driver Marc Gene set the fastest lap time at Sebring. Gene posted a time of 1 minute, 45.811 seconds around the 3.7-mile circuit for a speed of 125.885 mph in the diesel-powered Peugeot 908 HDi.

I found some other times people have posted:

Stock C5 Z06 = 2:36
Viper = 2:23
STI with 300whp, NT-01s = 2:33

So I would say 2:37 is a pretty good time for your first run at sebring

Thanks guys, you'll love this one.

I believe you'll find most if not all of the cars listed above are track dedicated race cars.

You'll notice that the flag man just before the long straight was waving a black flag at me because I passed the M3 in a no passing zone.
Lambo Ron and myself both got black flagged because of him.

Great to see! What tire recommendations do you have and what did you use? I'm thinking 18" for my unused OE wheels.

I Hate the "No Point By" Nothing worse. One of my pet peeves.

Your 2.37 is VERY respectful..

Why was he driving so slow?? Couldve used a better driver but I wouldn't mess with a 900hp M3.

Chief63,
Didn't mean to skip your questions. I ran Motil 300 oil and water/red line in the coolant. The oil temps never got above 260 and the water never got above 205 so we were good. The MHP tune did great!

We had a great group from OAC that went but for some reason I was always getting separated. HHughes1 was there and I'm sure he'll chime in because he was always running similar times and so was Lambo Ron, Eric with his modded GTR and Matt with his Viper. I think I was the only one running a track transponder though. There were many others there as well.

I did add a special grill to the front that allowed much more air just for road racing.

There were plenty of other cars out there and it was incredibly hot. I had issues with oil temps going over 280 and the car acted strange at those times. Even a couple of slower laps only got me down to the low 270's. I have a stock grill and the Passport 9500 ci radar and laser modules are attached to the back which blocked even more airflow. Keith also has the MHP thermalnator gaskets and thermostat that I don't.

We really need someone to fabricate a larger capacity oil cooler and an auxiliary transmission cooler. Anyone?

What's wrong with a universal one?

In theory, nothing . . . I just like something that's designed to fit as a direct replacement or add-on kit. Takes the guesswork out.

I ran the Dinan Oil cooler on my 335i and certainly appreciated the fit, finish and function. No reason someone can't step up and do the same for the little C.

Gotcha. If you weren't so far I'd rig something up for ya

No need.... Mercedes already installs an additional oil & transmission coolers for the CLK63 Black Series to address these issues. It would be nice if someone could adapt them to the W204 platform.

I'm aware of the BS coolers. The need I have is getting something equitable installed in my car in a clean manner.

Glad you had a great time! Your time was solid considering the conditions.

I have some experience at Sebring so the GT-R 2:20 on Bridgestone RE11's that had 7k miles from this years One Lap is a decent reference for a street car, daily driver.

Cheers.
