Sensitive brakes and throttle. Is it just my car?
I've been trying to get used to the overly sensitive throttle map and grabby brakes for the past 3000 miles in my C63. I tried to tell myself I just needed to get used to them and resisted from posting in the last few month just in case I eventually could get used to them. But after these few months, I still can't get used to having the car lurch out on me from a stop, or having the brakes grab too hard all in a sudden. I've had other cars with a lot more power (two Porsches, three Ferraris, numerous Vettes, a Viper and a Ford GT) but never an issue with the throttle. I did have an Infiniti FX45 that had a even more trigger happy gas pedal though. I remember testing driving the C63 at one time but don't remember the throttle being so sensitive and searching the forum didn't turn up any complaints so I wonder if it is just my car so I'd like to hear what you guys think of the issue. Thanks.

I'm usually pretty sensitive to both these issues on cars. My wife's old A6 had a really jumpy throttle (4.2 S-Line) that threw me off every time I drove it. And grabby brakes drive me nuts.
I would have already complained about these things if my C63 had them. It doesn't. Maybe there's something amiss with your car?

Funny you should say that.
I got out of my BMW the other day and into the C63 and thought to myself, I wish the throttle on the C63 was as sensitive as the Beemer. It would make it an even better ride.
I’ve never had to get on the brakes hard enough to know how well they work but with normal use, they respond like any other big brake package, easy to regulate and comforting to know they are there.

I thought that it was a good thing? You want the throttle to answer you immediately and you want the breaks to be awake at all times...
What's the issue here? I see no issue. That's exactly how it should be.

I feel it grabby too. Only moderate press on pedal generates lot of brake. I kinda not like it much. My other car, 996 turbo(Brembo) similar setup, it has very linear response though out range. Modulation feeling and feedback to driver is more solid. But overall stopping power, both cars are pretty close and excellent. I often remind my wife that she should not panic and brake hard. Someone might rear-end her car.

vkam,
Just like you, when I apply medium to heavy braking, the brakes feel fine, just the first 1/4 travel of the brake pedal under light braking do I find the brake force not linear. Same with the gas, just the first inch or two is overly sensitive - it goes from not much there to all in a sudden too much gas. The C63 is the wife's car and she complaints of the same too and didn't have any issue with her previous car, a heavily mod'd Mitsubishi EVO X with just about as much power as the C63. I may need one of you guys to drive my car to get some more opinions, or go back to the dealer and test drive a couple other C63's.

Thank you for sharing your experiences guys and it looks like maybe it is just my car.

I would not complain too much about gas pedal. Strong returning spring gives enough info, more than position of a pedal. I would compare it in your car against a new one in a dealership
