AMG Hood Emblem...

We need to contact this guy and get him to produce one of these to fit our cars. I know many of you have talked about how our emblems are some funky size. Anyone wish to take the reigns on this and see if we can get some for our C63's?

Our emblems, according to my measurements, are about 57mm in diameter. I emailed this guy to see if he would mfg them to fit our cars and I'll let you know what he says. Anyone else interested?

Won't fit.

I believe the diameter on our hood emblem is 57mm. He lists his emblems
as 43mm.

Yes, we know, and that's why he is trying to get the seller to make a 57mm version.

The 57mm measurement I took was from the outermost edge of the emblem. I think maybe I should remove the emblem from my car and make sure that it doesn't taper down slightly where it meets the hood itself. If it does, we might have to trim the requested size down a millimeter or four.

Good to know, but any chance on the multi-color fruit salad logo?

I am in the process of taking a 57mm AMG colored fruit salad wheel cap cover and applying to see it is snug and completely over where OEM emblem went. I am looking for flush look with our raised emblem. It has been raining and I have been on travel, so I will attempt install tomorrow and post pics of the outcome.

To replace our emblem or go over it?

And what is this "rain" substance to which you refer?

To be replace and rain is the crap that we need, but which makes our cars look like crap when they are caught in it. When ever my wife wants rain for the garden she simply asks me to wash and detail the car and within the hour it will rain. Never fails...and we aren't talking normal rain here... no we are talking Euro toxic acid rain...the kind that leads a residue...

I see a black AMG emblem on ebay that is 50mm instead of the 43 we see all over. And, the one on ebay has what appears to be the same mounting piece on the underside as stock. I'm gonna give it a shot and see what happens.

1st set of pics (1-2) shows the emblem you were looking at installed. The 50cm diameter they refer to is the outer edge of the emblem which is black and the actual logo is only 44mm. So the looks really doesn't work for me at all.

2nd set (pic 3-6) is 57mm AMG badge as per post above. I have simply overlayed it on top of the old emblem to see if it would cover the emblem impression in hood completely and it is not half bad. When I remove the old emblem it will sit further into the hood and should be pretty much flush. This has 3M on the back so I don't think I would use the hood bracket as it would be very much flush with hood and have lots of contact area for secure fit. I not a huge fan of colored version, so will probably order the silver alloy version of fruit salad design and then fit to see if this meets with what look I going after.

Call me stupid, but I don't see the 57mm fruit salad version linked above . But again if you don't want it, then I will gladly take it off your hands .

Thanks... but I can't read German . BTW, the wheel hub ones might work but they are 55.5mm vs 57mm, do you think the smaller size works better?

I did the same thing, Dave. I bought a set of four 57mm emblems off eBay that are essentially wheel center cap stickers. The quality of the actual emblem is just OK. It is far from perfect but looks pretty good. It's only been on for a day. So far, so good.

My biggest concern is how little contact area there is for the adhesive backing. I'll try to find a better version once I know this is going to hold up. I'm also on the hunt for a matching set (~63mm) for my wheels.

Here are some crappy pics from my garage. I'll take some better ones this weekend.

I've ordered. But it has yet to arrive. I actually got the one with chrome perimeter instead of the all black since we have so much chrome already.

Just bid on a set of those as well. Looks like the 50mm one I have coming will be too small, although the chrome edge will probably look better on my white car than the black edge looks on your black car. It just kid of gets lost and looks real small.

I've been looking at all types of MB's lately and they all seem to have 57mm badges. I don't understand why replacements are so darn hard to find in that size.

HBC350, Can you please post the link of which one you ordered? I am really liking the silver and black simple logo. And this is the one that fits, the right size, correct?

Thanks.

I ordered this one, although it might be 7mm smaller than stock. For $20 I'll give it a shot. It has the same mounting bracket as stock and I like that. They need to get with the program and make these in 57mm!

I like that one as well. I just thought that since we are stuck with all the chrome and aluminum trim that MB forces on us (instead of going with the black shadowline trim that BMW offers) I should stick with the chrome border. I'll mix and match a few since they're only 20 bones.
