Private Dragstrip Rental :: NorCal, Oregon and Washington Owners :: Oct 1st @ 10:00am
Also for my time, my street tires are Michelin Sport PS3. 265/18/40
AND Those 12s second are AFTER Burn out before the launch...for some reason my tires act like drag radials

Without burn out, i got 13.10s the best one and I even hit 14.10 once awhile...

It was well worth the drive and fun to compare all the different configurations. And great pictures and videos CEK. They turned out great!
I blame my stupid self for that one! Next time, seriously, I will get there the night before!!! And yes, DRs would benefit GREATLY. It was pretty difficult getting good traction on the stock Pirellis. The track was prepped well, but towards the end, us "street tires" guys were confined to one side, while the "DR" guys (i.e. just Wayne) had a lane to himself. nrgy and I were making some observations and thought the street-tires lane were getting pretty beat up by the 3-4 street tire cars.
Which leads me to this next issue:
See below:
Whoa there. That is a horrible assumption. You can't look at the ETs alone ignoring all the other data. I edited my post above to include a MPH-sort. A much better indicator of Horsepower.
Anyhow, B.E.R.U.A.N.G's car was neck in neck with the P31 stock car all day long. They actually tied ET and MPH (low 114's) twice when they ran heads-up. I've got all 150+ runs in front of me. It wasn't until I layed down about 2/3 of my Nitto tread on a well prepped lane when he made an incredible pass as he finally got some traction on those street tires.
Good job on those last runs, though. You were getting your money's worth!
Drag radials v. street tires make ALL the difference. I am confident I would have had very low 12s if I had drag radials. I never did get a really good launch.
Oh, and the GREAT thing about a private strip rental like this? I think I had at LEAST 30 runs. I'll have to add up all the timeslips I have :-).

Oh, dear.... I'll never live this one down.

Haha.

Yeah BERUANG, you really started to hook up after you switched to the right lane at the end. Like you said your street tires were hooking like drag radials! I guess that just goes to show what a good launch can do

We should definitely do this again when the weather turns better...next year. Haha.

That last 1/2 hour I took matters into my own hands. One massive burnout after another and I started to finally get some real traction consistently as I helped prep the lane myself. B.E.R.U.A.N.G certainly took advantage of the opportunity. It made my last three runs interesting. I'm not kidding about those bare patches of concrete. His PS3s are like sponges.
You be surprised at how streetable the Nitto Drag Radials are. Even Money drove down on his. I've never had an issue with them in the Spring/Summer/Fall for daily driving on much more powerful cars. Absolute no go in the Winter.

I should've been ask first. My bad..Also I have no idea if street's lane and drag's lane really diffrent in prep. I mught as well bring some DR next time
You also showed that a quick burnout on street tires was pretty helpful in getting your 60' times down. I think we all wish you would have found that out @ 11:00am instead of 3:45pm.
What was the temperature? The starting line person has on long sleeves and a jacket. Must have been chilly.
You MUST ALL get some drag radials. This car is a waste without them at the track.

We are doing a track rental Oct. 22nd at MIR and I think all of us will have drag radials and similar mods so you will see the difference in the times. These are definitely different cars on DR's. I drive mine all the time on them and it does well.
Ya'll did GREAT and I'm glad to see more guys enjoying this car. MB AMG did their homework with this engine package!!
Keep racing and be safe!!

Also worth noting the slight head wind @ 5-10 MPH.

All that VHT . . . gone in a matter of seconds.
