Great run Keith.... your effort, your progress, and your car in general never seize to amaze me
By the way, your 60' is holding you back big time. If you can drop that 1.8 to 1.6, you're looking at solid 10s easily - even in the 2000 ft DA environment you ran at last night
I can't imagine what your car would do at MIR at -1800 ft

Kind of a related question.......
I'm sure there is, but who else can think of a car that you can do a quick tire change on, go to the drag strip and run 11's or 12's (in stock trim), change tires one more time, go to any given road track, and run lap times inline with mildly modded race cars, go to a top speed event, and hang with almost anyone there (170ish mph), and then come home and go to the grocery store on the way from from picking the kids up from school, and never miss a beat????
I guess I'm just rambling, but damn......MB did a superb job with this platfrom.

I thought DA didn't matter as much with nitrous? (of course it still matters, but the benefits would be much lower from what I understand...?) Still, it appears 10's at 130+ is very likely in Keith's future - which is incredible performance indeed.
EDIT: just noticed - Keith, you picked up 30 MPH on the back half. Nice work...

Keith (or someone) should probably start a new thread with the new C63 records, since it's probably getting overlooked at the back of this multi-page thread.

DA wont help much on a nitrous car. Nitrous is referred to as DA in a bottle. But it will still help a little. I ran 10.59 in slightly positive DA, can't wait to get that DA in a couple months if I still have the car!
You have to remember that if he sn't spraying out of the hole then the car is still NA for that period of time, which is effected by DA

You are absolutely correct: with nitrous, DA is not as big of a factor on the motor as without nitrous..... but it is still a factor. On the 63, I've seen it still affect the engine a little bit. Also, humidity, which is usually high in Florida, does play a factor as well.
I still believe there is some merit to the DA affect , even with nitrous though. The added nitrous (100-250 shot, whatever it is), would be the same ADDED power regardless to the DA, but the ACTUAL HP of the N/A motor would still be affected. In my opionion, taking a car that pulls 600HP in the nasty DA that is Florida (10 out of 12 months), and ADDING 200 HP, would give you 800HP. Then taking the same car that pulls 675HP in mid-Feburary (when the DA is more in-line with those of you in the Northeast), add the same 200 HP, now you have a car that pulls 875HP.
Am I thinking about it wrong?

It's just that on the west coast, we may get one DA a year or sometimes every two years.... but every time we check the DA at MIR in the winter, it's always negative
But seriously, I think MIR and ATCO and other east coast tracks see a lot more negative DA than here in California not to mention the better air quality, less humidity, much better track prep, and better gas. It's a drag racer's dream come true. I'm sure you also have your bad days, but it is no where near in comparison to what we have here.

The car is back in the shop getting the front fixed due to a booboo from Sebring. The tranny is being diagnosed as we speak to figure out why its messing up. Will advise.

Sounds like we just got a volunteer cameraman. We'll be in Miami Oct. 10th. Bring your camera and we'll supply the subject matter.

FYI- I already have the F/I record and just 0.01s from the nitrous record (with me on 93 octane and no nitrous). Also the overall 1/8th mile record I believe
