Someone slashed my tire
Came out from my office this morning - got in my beast, started it up and the command center was lit in RED. I saw a low tire pressure warning - and my left rear tire was at 6lbs. 
I hobbled it to the tire place and had to get new tire. The side wall had a 6 inch slit on it !
So being the prudent guy I am, I decided it was a good oppornunity to go bigger
So 275/35/18 it was.
Pissed me off. Only 1489 miles on my new car. Time to look at the camera recordings to see who did this.

that sucks dude some morons out there are just haters of things they cant afford
so one tire is bigger than the other? since u only had 1489miles on the car/tires the other tire would still be good

No, no...I upgraded size on BOTH rear tires.....Maybe one of my employees??? Problem is that some of my employees could afford it.

Nope, I haven't fired anyone in a while.....I don't get it. I would never do that to someone else. It's just plain wrong. If I was jealous of someone else...I would work harder

Slightly OT.. the newer models actually display the pressure now?? My 09 just complains about the pressure, but I have to check each one manually.
Also, any chance this was an accident (say you work in an industrial area, maybe someone one a forklift accidentally clipped the tire with something sharp... or driving in you slashed it on something sharp... and it did not fail immediately (highly unlikely based on a 6 inch gash...) Just considering alternate theories.
I mean in all honesty, not that I would ever do this.. but if I was ever pissed or jealous enough to slash a tire.. it would not be just one.....

AllenC63...was that you at Burbank Airport few weeks ago waiting at the loading and unloading zone and the Traffic guy almost gives you a ticket? coz you have the same color and has a valencia plate holder

Thats really messed up i just don't understand some people. Are they going to move further in life because they keyed or slashed someones tires? NO. Just the opposite because Karma is a b****. I really hope you find out who did it.

the TPMS in my 04 W220 displays actual pressure, so it's not "new" but maybe just delayed in being offered in the C-class

I never tried, but isn't it difficult to slash such a high pressure tire? Wouldn't you need a really strong knife and quite a bit of strength? I would guess it was a rather strong person??

I was thinking the same thing, I would imagine you would need a rambo knife to get a 6" gash in a tire. I have seen people puncture tires with knifes but never slash. Either way I hope you catch the guy

ICE/ that was me at Burbank airport. Yeah those airport cops are jumpy. 275s feel good. I went with stock brand just lil bigger. Drove to vegas today. Before holiday traffic. Man she hauls *** on the open desert road.
