Quote: No it isnt. Propain is correct in that this guy did not get the killer deal he thinks. They gave him 43k for his car. The lowest car sold at Manhiem was 46 and we do not know the options of it. So assume he could get 46 for his car, which the dealer would then either CPO and resell or wholesale it. There is 3 grand that the dealer used to tell him he got 20k off sticker when really he only got 17k.
I understand the mathematics of the deal.

But who cares. The guy got a good deal and is happy with his purchase.

We don't know what they would have offered him on trade anyway given the somewhat unusual option package on his 09.

Propain, not sure if you were asking me for the dealer information for the deal I referred to in my post, but if so, it is at the Mercedes dealer in Long Beach. They only have one 2010 in stock with an MSRP of 67k+ that they are apparently anxious to get rid of. Someone go and get it. I had to bite the bullet and go with a used CPO to save about 10k.

Yes, this car was also offered to me at $19,200 discount from MSRP, before they even knew I had a trade. When mentioned the trade and showed it to them, they urged me to sell it myself since they would not be willing to pay much for it with the MB-Tex interior. So further proof that the $20K level discount is possible without any extraneous factors.

Someone is going to buy that car at Long Beach soon for a similar discount, and hopefully they don't have a trade involved so they can verify the feasability of this discount once and for all.

Called MB Long Beach. (562) 988-8300

1 car left. Black 67,605K. This is how the conversation went...

Me "How much do you want for the car"

Robert "How much do you wanna pay"

Me "Someone told me I can get 19200K off the MSRP I have no trade"

silence...

Robert "Umm sir that number is nowhere near realistic"

Me "I am just telling you what I was told"

Robert "Well sir the best I can do is about 12-14K off MSRP"

Me "So you cant do 19200 off the car?"

silence...

Me "Didnt you just sell another C63 off your lot for 20K off MSRP"

Robert "No sir, not that im aware of, Ill speak to my general manager and see what we can do and call you back"

Just got a call back from the guy as im typing this.

Robert "We only had 1 C63 in the past month on our lot and we still have it"

Robert "The best I can give you is 15K off this car"

Robert "We are the only MB dealer in Long Beach"

Robert "Someone was just here and tried to buy the car and trade an sl500. He has 4 cars on his credit"

Robert "We have not sold any C63 off our lot for 20K off MSRP"

I dont know what you guy are selling but its your move sir....

Quote: I hate to break it to those of you with jealous tendencies, but he seems to be telling the truth. I contacted the SoCal dealer with the other "punched" 2010 that he referred to in his post. They responded with an email offering to sell a black 2010 with p2, leather, and carbon for approximately 51.5k even though the msrp was 67605 (approximately). That was their OPENING offer. No trade was involved. I passed because I want the multimedia pack, but I think that should be enough for all of us to start thanking him for pointing out the deals instead of ripping him as a lair. PS-will someone jump on that 2010 so I can stop beating myself up for passing?

Interesting. Same dealer, 2 different members and the discount differs by $3100.

I was looking at that car too. Unfortunately, it does not come with the multimedia package (so no Nav), keyless go or rearview monitor or even an iPod interface. Instead, someone decided to spend $2500 on carbon fiber trim instead!! I don't think I'd buy that car at $20k or even more off MSRP because of the lack of these basic features. I'd rather spend $5k more and get the options I want instead of regretting it for a long time after the purchase.

It looks the rest of the cars in SoCal have not been punched out to take advantage of the 10k trunk money, so no go on the $16k+ off MSRP deal (there is one Black C63 sitting at FJ in Newport Beach, but I couldn't get them to budge because they don't have the 10k off).

xtyper, which dealer did you get your car from ? I am wanting to get into a newer C63 from my 09. Would love to swing the deal that you got. I am very flexible for options. Hell I don't even need to trade my car in, would rather sell it privately.

Call MB Long Beach. (562) 988-8300 Thats where he claims he got his car from.

Ask Robert if he can give you the 20K off MSRP that he did for him. Tell him you heard it on a car forum. Please post your results.

I thought xtyper suggested that he got his 20k off from South Bay, but he shopped around and also found the deal on the car at Long Beach. That's how I found it anyway.

Here is the text of the email that I got from Long Beach after I emailed them and said "are you offering this car at a discounted rate because the warranty has started to run?" Their opening offer was $15788 less than MSRP. I never followed up because it had no multimedia pack. As I recall xtyper said he was able to get them to go down another $3412.

I think your right on the South Bay. I dont think he ever said where he got it though.

Your deal looks right. 15K off MSRP. You said its missing the NAV? Yeah they would be highly motivated to move that car without the NAV. I didnt buy a black in 09 because it was missing HID's(P2). The NAV is a must!

When I spoke to Robert he said he could do 15K off. Im sure I could move them another 700 or so without the trade. Im sure I could move them more with a trade like Xtyper did.

Like others have said, he got the deal because of his trade. Same 15K everyone else seems to be getting.

He did say the Long Beach offered him 19200 off MSRP with no trade. My phone call to them stated otherwise, but if your in the area I would try to stop in to them and see if you can get that deal. No NAV though... bleh...

When did you buy your 2010? Someone at work bought a C63 around 3 months ago and only got $3k off MSRP!

I think I may have missed out on the deals this year. Will just wait another year. The 2012 model year cars could see significant changes, so we should see these discounts (and maybe even better) again sometime next year. Does anyone know when MB releases "trunk money" on these cars? Did the $10k off show up in July?

I never said I bought my car at Long Beach. I merely mentioned that I knew of another "punched" car available at that dealership that was quoted a similar discount on.

And come on Propain, you should know better than to expect rock bottom car deals to be had over the phone. If you show up in person and are ready to drive the car off the lot that moment, you will find the dealer much more accomodating with pricing. Again, I don't care what anyone believes. I was at Long Beach in person last weekend and they offered me their car for $48,400+TTL. Talk to Dez in internet sales, as he seemed like a very straight shooter. I got my car already at the numbers I quoted, and have nothing else to prove. Now I need to focus on racking up the 1000 break-in miles.

Oh, and I bought my car at South Bay Mercedes.

Sorry, had to touch on your BS a little more. Your saying to me "Come on ProPain you should know better than to expect rock bottom over the phone"

Yet from the same dealer, without showing up, you post an Email with a $18700 off MSRP deal. Then they took a whopping $400 more off the deal for your big show up in person deal.

Meanwhile I speak to the sales person on the phone and his bottom line was 15K off MSRP with no trade. Yeah.. I should know better.

Honestly dude.. Quit while your ahead. Post some pics. Enjoy your ride.
