I didn't actually want the camera because I did it for my C350 for 180 bucks. So I didn't really care for it. My girl liked they Keyless go though. I'll definitely post some pics when I get it. Just trying to figure out how to proceed with my current C350. My friend came up to me tonight right after I decided I was going to buy the C63 to ask me to sell him my C350. How do I work a transaction like that? I have a lien on my current car for the balance remaining. I'll need the before I get the C63 and most importantly to me, I would definitely need to keep my white NY plates. A nasty orange NY plate would definitely be a no go for me. Any ideas or feedback guys?

Just do the private sale. Cash or Bank Check. Call your lien holder and get the payoff amount. They will pad it by about 5 days with interest. Send them the money. You will not be able to keep your plates unless you do a transfer and that will involve getting the new C63 before you privately sell your car or at the same time.
Also understand you will lose the tax saving on the new C63. Meaning you will pay tax on whatever you paid for the car. The buyers of your car will also need to claim the tax on the sale on your C350.

"We" aren't the ones killing your trade value, regardless of whether or not we buy the car, the dealers would still have received the trunk money by punching their cars. Thereby passing on this trunk money factor to your trade. Wait another month or so and all the 2010's should be gone by then. If it's any consolation, they are killing me on my trade too.

Good luck with your new purchase too!

Guys,
I created a new post commenting on the c63 prices. I was browsing swaplease.com and saw a number of 2008 models that had anywhere from 9-13 months left on about a $1000 a month lease payment. What was amazing is to see the buy it price advertised when the lease was up. One was $33K and if they owner had the mileage in check the car would have around 48K miles. The lease ended 11/11. So basically if I waited a year I could potentially find a 2008 for that price.
Amazing how fast these drop in value.

Noooooooooo thank you. These are expensive cars to buy, but even more expensive to keep. Find a loophole or get in and get out!!

It's nuts. For perspective, I traded in my 06 C55 with 38k loaded in near perfect condition (a couple rock chips, and needed new tires) for $24k in August 09. That was a steal, I could MAYBE get $26k on the open market if I tried hard. With a $62k sticker thats a 61% drop in 3 years of ownership. If the C63 follows suit, that means my 09 with a $71k sticker will be worth....wait for it....$28k in August 2012. Thats 22 months!!!!

I bought my 2009 for 52K. I sold my 2009 for 50K with 12K miles. The first year is the worst, but with these discounts you are way ahead of the game. If you pay sticker or close to it you will get hammered.
The C63 is really gaining popularity and becoming a very desirable car. The numbers these cars put up for the price is amazing. This has helped slow down the depreciation quite a bit.

If you got your car for $58K, drove her for 48K and sold her for $33K you would pay about 43 cents per mile....how is that a bad deal, my Porsches have always cost much more?

It is insane to see these cars drop in value so fast. My 2000 clk430 is still expensive to maintain. I just came off a $3800 repair for the alarm system, leaky valve cover gasket and a number of other things as well as Service which was due. Good thing the car is paid off. That and depreciation are the two things I dislike most about my car. It is an amazing ride and mine is in great shape for a 10 year old car. Just had to absorb that it has the same value of about a 5 year old Honda Civic.
Anyways I so much lust have the C63 but can't get into something for $45K+ right now. When they end up in the low 30's will have serious thoughts of buying.

Agreed. Anyone who keeps the C63 or any MB as a daily driver without a warranty is foolish. Bite the bullet. Pay the car down in 4 years and retain some equity to put down on your next ride.
No one ever said cars were a good value or investment.

Time will tell if the C63 somehow is less immune to this than every other car in the lineup, but yes, cars are a terrible place to put your money if you are looking for any kind of $ protection, and yes, AMG's are absolutely awful.

Looks like you found a great loophole - trunk money to get a ridiculous price, and having a dealer who will work with you on the trade/new buy to a ridiculous degree with trunk money again. If others arent in that same position, things may not be as rosy.

Not really a loophole. Just taking advantage of the system. I didnt get as much trunk money this time. You can play with the numbers though. I got the car for 54K and they bought mine for 50K. Got the car for 52K, they bought mine for 48K.
Yeah as stated above, if you buy this car at MSRP or close you will be quite angry when trying to sell it later unless you pay it down quick.
