high mileage tires
I am getting ready to replace my stock tires after 5k miles and I did a search already to see if what high milage option tires are out there. So far in the 275/35/R18 I came up with
1.Michlin Pilot Sport A/S plus which has the 45k mile warrenty
2. Continental Extreme Contact DWS - 50k mile warrenty
3. Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS - 45k mile warrenty
I heard the conti have more road noise..anyone else have any recommendation on higher mileage tires as I dont really want to really them every 5k to 10k miles. I am not expecting the get anywhere near 45k miles but atleast if they go before that I can get some credit for them. Thanks

The Hankook EVO's have a pretty high tread wear compared to the OE Pirelli's, And they are a bargain too. I wouldn't get all season tires on a C63 unless you live in near freezing climates. But if you want tires solely for the purpose of getting the most milage out of them, then go for the all seasons.

Their noise level is low, but I can't compare them directly to the tires you reference because I have never owned them.

You ever track the DWS tires... I am looking at the DW and DWS.. living in DC area, we get cold snow and ice.. I really want to get the DWS.. but I drive like an *** too.. with lead feet.. I'm not sure the DWS will handle my driving style...
The DWS is a great tire. I've had a set on my S55 for approximately 15,000 miles, and the level of wear indicates I will most likely get at least another 15K out of them. I don't drive like an @ss (ok, occassionally I do
), so your mileage may vary.

i think the DWS would be a great choice IF you did NOT track your car. those tires and the ones i have (YOKO Avids) are not intended for tracking. you will be very disappointed if you put them on a track.

SflGator had the Michelin A/S+ and was very happy with them. he got about 12K miles.
Don't listen to the naysayers about having a C63 with all season tires. Sflgator stated he got the same performance or better than with the P zeros.
I followed and just got my 265s A/S installed today. I do not believe you can go wrong with these tyres. They also look a bit fatter and fit the wells perfect. It seems like the car is a bit lowered. I am happy to post pics if you want. Others have gone with 275s with no issues but I chickened out.

actually, they would be a fine track tire for my S55: bullet down the straights, slow to normal speed for corners, bullet down the straights. Rinse and repeat. And don't forget to let the Miatas pass.

no, i've not tracked my S55. The DWS may not be the best tire for your lead feet. Someone on here has dragged with DWS (BlackBenz? Benz-o-Rama?) and had pretty good results, great maybe, considering it's an all-season tire and his car has 8 million ft-lbs of torque. That is straight line performance, though.

I just noticed that the OP is in L.A., no need for the DWS (the S stands for Snow).
Can anyone comment on the DW? The DWS has outstanding wet weather performance, does the DW match it?

These Michelin all season tyres are a compromise in every aspect. You lose grip, performance and feel compared to the PZeros. The PZeros are superior in every way for performance and direct road feel. With the A/S+ the turn-in response is much slower, but they are quiet and do seem to last much longer than the PZeros.
I agree with others, if you don't see freezing temperatures and the roads are dry then there is no reason to waste your money on all season tyres.

Talking to people at Tirerack about Continental Extreme Contact DWS (all season), they're telling me the fronts (235 or 245s) are not XL...any concerns about this issue before i go ahead and purchase them?
