Photos :: MHP 1 7/8" Long-tube Headers & 3" Mid-pipes :: C63 AMG
Got my headers and catless mid-pipes yesterday. The fit and finish is fantastic. The true long-tube design (notice that all four primary tubes continue well past the final bend) and the high-velocity merge collectors are a thing of beauty. The welds are simply a work of art. Six band clamps and two O2 extension harnesses are included for a 100% bolt-in design.
They are getting installed this weekend. I'll take some better photos including close-ups on Saturday morning when i have some daylight. Videos, dyno pulls, track time and a full write-up will coming in the next few weeks.
In a couple weeks I'll also have my bolt-in/out cat solution in-place. MHP is working on a custom configuration to help quiet down the cold-starts during non-track use. More to come there.
Anyhow, here's a couple quick photos I shot during halftime.

Welcome to the brotherhood! I don't have the headers yet but Andy and I are talking this option.. You going to get the tune that goes with the headers?
What are you going to do with the X-Pipe & exhaust mans? How do they fit into the picture?

I am still amazed at the difference these headers make. Picking up 125 bhp with computer codes and metal pipes is just insane. Thank you MB and MHP for making a near 600hp car available at this price point!

Good lookin' headers, superlubricity; look forward to your install documentation.
Yep, noticed that too. Pretty easy to contrast with other alternatives in the marketplace, once you learn what to look for and have equivalent-angle pics to compare.
Hope they reward you with many miles of spirited performance... good luck.

Yes, many reasons I chose these headers.
- They are a true long-tube 4-into-1 design.
- They are 100% bolt-in.
- They use 3.0" mid-pipes.
- They have proven results at the track and on the dyno.
- They were willing to work directly with me on a custom cat solution.

I’m just playing devil’s advocate here and I’m no disrespect but these headers are not equal length even though they are long tube. Am I correct? Not saying thats a bad thing but its more than likely not as much power as Equal Length Long Tube Headers. And wouldn’t the 3” piping midpipes defeat its purpose if they connect to the smaller diameter factory piping for the remainder of the exhaust?

With four 1 7/8" pipes headed into that high-velocity merge collector, I can see why MHP chose to go with 3" mid-pipes. It also mates nicely to MHP's 3" catback system in the event one wants to replace the entire system.

You are correct on them not being equal-length, however that doesn't mean they produce less power/torque than equal-length. This has been a heated discussion for decades. There are actually quite a few long-winded threads about this on the various performance car forums. To the best of my knowledge there are no equal-length long-tube headers available for the C63 on the market.

I can't wait to see the dyno results after you get these installed! I'm expecting in addition to the rotors and power pulley you'll be top dog in the NW. Look forward to hearing how the install went as well. I still need to get my setup tweaked before our track meeting.
