+1

This is the number one reason I haven't done long tubes yet. The
noise is deafening. I willing to compromise some hp for less noise.

The below quote from super is exactly how I feel.
I'm hoping the solution Jim/Andy come up with does remedy this. Civility when not racing is something I strive for

Thanks, Kjell.

If you want a little more power, my PLMs Manifolds and GT PRO X-Pipe are for sale. I'd love them to go to a local and I'll let them go for a super-low price.

Man all this talk about how loud these headers are when cold. Would somone mind making a video of a cold startup? I'm starting to wonder if they are indeed that loud or if you all are just big babies LOL!

I don't think you'll regret it...And if even if you did, you could probably follow Super's path and get his sound reduction plan.
I would love too but this is my only car except for my wifes Acura RDX, besides I have done the whole super loud car back when(12 years ago) I totally reworked my 96 Trans AM. I did the whole top end with new heads, cams, manifold, headers and exhaust. New ECU, Pulleys, clutch, suspension basically everything. It was fun for a few months and then the constant explosion everytime I started it up was a bit too much. Once at the Mall I actually made a kid cry when him and his mom walked behind my car when I started it up The Mom was none too pleased with me as I drove off.... So I think I will stick with the quieter package. I heard NRGYS when he started his up and WOW is all I can say. Beautiful sound but a bit too loud for me these days

CONGRATS and welcome aboard!!

Wait till you add the 3" race exhaust that has an x-pipe, no resonators, and straight through mufflers if you want to call them that. LOL

You are going to love the track results!! Once again, congrats!!

PS: What did you say, I can't hear you!

I'm testing the "silencing solution" this weekend. I'm headed to the dragstrip on Friday morning with 5 other C63s. I'll have some new data then.

C63 needs the noise... because it doesn't look exotic or a sport car
so YOU NEED TO BE ANGRY TO SHOW IT
GO for it

I enjoyed the videos a lot..thanks for sharing. One thing though. one tenth improvement on the 60' will equal to two tenths of the ET. I expect Avengerboater to soon reach the 11's. Just by droping two tenths should put him at around 12 sec flat.

This is not just an observation but a true statement, a true fact.

Of course (called out in my signature).

You wouldn't want to do a burnout like that on street tires . . . especially if they were all seasons.

Did you ever ran the car on the strip before swapping for the new mods(K2 and MHP headers)? I would like to know what is the improvement from before.

Not at the same dragstrip, but close enough to get an idea of the power/torque gains. Conditions were similar and less than optional both days. There is a couple tenths/MPH in there once weather cools and the humidity drops.

10/01/10 (Woodburn Dragstrip, OR) - w/ MHP long-tube Headers, Catless Mid-pipes
1.796 60', 11.744 @ 119.18 MPH (1/8 Mile 7.595 @ 94.59 MPH)
1.782 60', 11.753 @ 119.17 MPH (1/8 Mile 7.600 @ 94.50 MPH)

07/28/10 (Pacific Raceways, WA) - w/ PLM Manifolds, Stock Primary Cats + GT PRO X-Pipe
1.826 60', 12.028 @ 115.87 MPH (1/8 Mile 7.769 @ 92.40 MPH)
1.844 60', 12.078 @ 115.56 MPH (1/8 Mile 7.810 @ 91.76 MPH)

superlubricity- do you have the mhp tune as well?

Not sure if it would make a diff. Your times are a better than mine and I only have the mhp tune.

I wonder if your times would be better with the mhp tune for headers????
