I've seen the Stirling Moss in Berlin... driven by a 70-year old grandpa in an open helmet
But IMO SLR 722 FTW
This one is definitely from the MB factory in Stuttgart (License plate)

the Stirling Moss is the only SLR I'd buy--that car is sick
but my wallet is just a bit light for that ride

The need to wear a closed face helmet would be enough to delete this car off of my "dream" list. I'd much rather have a supercar I can actually drive and enjoy sans helmet, without the risk of getting decapitated.

I love C&C in Irvine, you never know what's going to show. Just watch a show on HDNET, the Robb Report picked the SLR as the car of the year for 2010 over the R8 V10.

At $1M each and only sold to previous SLR owners, it's not something I need to concern myself with much
It is a beautiful car!

I don't think the person who buys this car is deciding one versus the other--they just add it to the collection and I'm sure it's a very large collection at that.
Personally, I like the car and see its place in the auto world, a) the rarity/exclusiveness, b) the truly unique open air experience w/o a windshield, and c) its obvious history relevance.
I think it's cool as an addition to an already bulging collection for some wealthy dude--strap on the leather helmet and goggles and zoom
Also, park this car next to any lambo, R8 or even most f-cars and I bet this gets the larger crowd! my .02

The Prince of Monaco has one of these in his collection too. I had no idea what it was when I took a picture of it but I thought it was some sort of concept car when I saw the seats, side exhausts, and lack of windshield. Def a sick car.
