C63 to C300... WOW...

So, I was pretty sure it wasn't 153 degrees in Palm Springs today, despite what my car was telling me. So, I brought the beast in for a minor repair to get the thermometer within some reasonable range of accurate and got a C300 loaner. Holy cow. I didn't realize how quiet and tame these cars are compared to the 63. I felt like I was driving a Prius!

The 300 and 350's need major engine upgrades. Neither (especially the 350) are competitive with anything they are supposed to be in the same class against.

I heard from my local dealer that they are either going to turbo or supercharge the 2012 C300 or C350...

I think turbo the 300 with smaller displacement....retune the 350 with DI to make 300 hp. Thats what I've been hearing.

I hope MB steps it up with the entry level Cs when it comes down to performance. Even a 328 smashes the C300 from any speed and not to mention it handles much better. A C350 compared to a 335 there is not even a comparison when it comes to performance numbers and they are around the same price, maybe the bimmer being about 4-5k more?

I did the exact opposite, going from a C300 to a C63. And that was a big difference, suspension, power, and tranny with throttle blipping. The interior hasn't changed except for the AMG leather package. I like the sirius traffic updates, and the compass feature in the COMAND. Now I have split fold down rear seats. It was certainly a good upgrade for me. Although fuel economy tanked, but I knew that before going into it.

Steel Grey Metallic C63!!
It's only been 4 whole days of me owning the car, but I'm shocked at how fast my gas guage moves. I thought I had prepared for the decrease in fuel economy, but WOW!! lol Oh wells...At least I'm laughing and giggling all the way to the gas station. lol

It's not the fuel consumption that bothers me. It's the small gas tank that leads to me visiting the gas station waaaaaay to frequently.

Thereby creating the illusion that the car is consuming even more gas. It's just my state of mind that I need to adjust. I think 200 miles is a fair estimate as to how far our car can go. lol What a joke.

Last week brought the c63 to have badges placed back on the car and paintless dent removal, and receive a c300 loaner in the same color (black) as my car. With 2 days of diving the loaner, there was a noticeable difference in "fun" factor. The c300 is a gutless but well made car. I doubt anyone at work or around my home noticed any difference between my C63 and the loaner c300. However, to the driver, the difference was everything. This is probably the reason I love the c63 so much. It is an understated, but purposeful looking luxury sedan that will usually devour anything that may choose to play with it.

Comparing a C63 and a C300/C350 is pretty stupid really. Not even the same class or even purpose focus. I don't think you'll find anyone who won't say a C63 is better overall car than the non-amg 204. Like those saying E90 328s are nowhere near the same league as E90 M3 or E350 isn't in the same league as E63....... well....duh.

I drove the C300 like 3 times now, the last one was a 2011 model with 60 miles and I found it to be very smooth. As far is the thermometer, it is total garbage, mine indicates like 20 degrees more that what it really is.

Man, in Tuscon your thermometer must be telling you it's 140 outside.

I'm going to force MB to fix mine. What's the point in having the feature if it's inaccurate by so much? And what would it take to fix it? A redesigned sensor with proper resistance? So? Do it.
