Fair enough. Everyone has different views. I will say this though, with the proper installation/welding it would not crack. Also I agree with regards to X-pipe designs thats why I said in post above "depending on design". I didn't just buy the first x-pipe I saw. This is actually my second x-pipe setup since I did not like the Magnaflow x-pipe design so I am well aware of the differences.

I have nothing against GT-pro at all. I was actually planning on having everything done through Brian when I first purchased the car. I just decided to go another route. I have nothing bad to say about him or his products. As I stated, I just shared the way I went about it.

Oh and I think you have gotten quoted pretty high on the MHP products because the headers and tune are way less than that last time I checked but that is off topic.

emericr, lol I would love to see that 50hp gain. Not gonna happen unfortunately. I believe superlube tested it out with no real gains.
How do you like the sound with the X pipe you got from summit racing?
Was it a pretty straight forward cut and weld?
And did you take it to AAA mufflers?
Lol sorry for all the questions.

What was it about the Mag x-pipe that you didn't like? What makes you prefer the one you have now?

Oh, cool thanks for the clarity!! Oh, yeah just checked the MHP site, wow STILL $3,000 for a tune that it was said originates from Tek tech (I forget the spelling, but saw Harrower find it) and they only charge $1200.00..But that is besides the point like you said.

Take care!

_AMG_, yep, I got it done a while ago at AAA. Was a very straight forward install since they know what they are doing. I remember speaking with you about it when you asked me about local shops. Sounds great! A bit exotic although a bit tame actually. Hard to describe. Out of the 3 setups I tested this was the best. I liked the sound of straight pipes (in place of secondaries) better but lost too much low end with that setup.

Dynomite, I felt the Magnaflow too restrictive and the fit wasn't as good as the summit piece. The summit piece and design I found also flows a hell of alot better. Just looking at where the X merges looking inside is a dead give away.

Any gains in peak power with a tune only C63 when adding this x-pipe?
Or, just a bit of mid-range power and louder sound?

Can you feel the difference in power or is it placebo?

My car made power everywhere in the power curve including peak, there was no where that dropped off, it gained everywhere, I'm happy.

C63 soon!
sorry to open up an old thread, but I too am shopping for an x-pipe. The two companies I have seen make them (GT pro and Fluid motorunion) seem to have been MIA as of lately? Any other recomendations?
