Yokohama AVID ENVigors...
OK, time for new shoes. I'll post my satisfaction or lack thereof with these tires as soon as I get them on. I've read good things so I'm going to give them a try. The most important thing to me given the way I drive the C63 is noise. I want a quiet tire. I know whatever I put on will wear out quick. I just want near-silence while I'm getting there. And at $750 a set, installed, I really can't go wrong.

I am seriously considering getting these too, mainly due to their high treadwear rating. Please keep us updated on your experience. I know they will last longer than most of the other tires out there, my main concern is how much of a perceived drop in grip and performance (as a daily driver, not a track car) there is compared with the softer ultra-performance tires. Thanks for sharing the info with us.

i only have the rears on and to be honest the amount of grip IN DAILY DRIVING is only noticed if you are beating the car. IE express way ramps at 100 plus... obvioulsy if you are in sport or manual you are going to bump the traction control more often than with some low mileage WARM Pzeros. but honestly if youre just driving it daily and doing regular driving you wont know the difference IMO. i have put over 3500 miles on my rear Avids and this is my assesment.

not to mention i just couldnt stomach WATCHING my Pzeros melt before my eyes. i honestly could drive it hard to and from dinner and park it in the garage and notice the tires had worn some. that is ridiculous for what i use this car for.....

What size rears did you guys get? Based on the various specs I've seen it appears that 255, 265, and 275 will all work on the C63. I'm certainly planning on going as wide as possible. This tire looks like it's little narrower than most other high-performance tires of the same size, so it looks like the 275/35 will work fine. Agree?

Wow. I don't know how long they'll last but if they stay as quiet and smooth as they are now for 10K miles (15K for the fronts) I'll be happy. $770 out the door including a set of black plastic lug covers. Couldn't stand the rusted out stock bolts one more minute.

i went with stock sizes. i know (flame suit on!) but i just really dont need to jack around with this car. i tinted the windows, replaced the rears, did service A, and i drive it and wash it. nothing else needs to be done to mine.

Thanks for the feedback Lex. No flames here, I'm with you on not screwing much with the car. All I've done is tint the windows and get a Eurocharged tune that gave it a little bit better top end power. Only reason I want to go wider in the back is to get a little better traction and tread life. I've been using 265 Sumitomos on the rear and they work fine. Might try taking another step up to 275 with the Yokos. The only good thing about the rear tires on this car is that if you don't like the ones you bought you know you won't have to put up with them for very long.
