As Keith stated the workmanship is top notch, I'm glad everyone went with c/f because you would be very disappointed if you hadn't. The fitment is spot on and mine will be partially painted then paired with a new DTM bumper next week. Hopefully we can resolve the LED running lights at the same time.
Driving around this evening in 70 degree weather at moderate speeds the oil temps maintain 208 to 212 and the water temps 183(moving) to 192(sitting at traffic light) it was funny to watch the water temp fall every time the car got moving again. After parking in the garage a significant amount of heat can be felt over each of the vents. This will make a huge difference at the track where I have had limp mode issues in the past from overheating.

Hey Guys,
I have one more question. A couple of you have mentioned that you want this hood but the timing isn't right and funds are not available right now with Christmas etc...... There are many reasons why timing is everything and I completely understand that.
If you live within the USA and know you want a hood within the next 90-120 days then let me know. The reason I am asking is because when I bring five or more over at one time via sea freight its very cost effective. It only cost about $125 each and I have that built into the price. When you bring them over one at a time its nearly three times that cost. I am going to confirm the order to Stone Carbon tomorrow and if you are very confident that you want one but nows not the right time I will bring a couple in for stock. It will save you at least $200 in freight. I am only trying to save you guys on the freight IF you want one soon. I hate it when I see a sale on something that I know I want but can't get right now. Then three months later I end up paying more for it, very frustrating. Just trying to help you guys out.
Thanks again for the orders and I look forward to getting all these distributed so everyone can enjoy. Howard (HHughes1) came by this morning and has been driving the car around all day and is amazed at how much heat this hood allows to escape. He said his engine temps are less and notices it cooling down much quicker when turned off. He said it doesn't heat up sitting still like it did before at traffic lights or stop and go traffic.
Will be great for road racing!!

Quick update guys. I had orders for 18 hoods at the end of last week and was having 20 made so I would have a couple in stock for future orders. Since then both of the extras have been spoken for so all 20 are taken. If you want one please let me know asap because I will need to add to the order right away. They are in production as we speak.

Just noticed that the design of Dads hood is very similar to Brabus design for the Bullit. Leads me to believe that the design will work very well as Brabus has stuffed a mod-d V12 into the Bullit and I am sure they faced huge issues with heat build-up as well. As we all know Brabus designs are ultra-high performance so we are onto a good thing here. Just not the $400K+ price tag of the Bullit

I have a stock style carbon fiber hood and it weighs the same as the hood with the louvers and vents. I will be selling my stock style carbon fiber hood soon if anyone is interested. The sides are painted the maroon color to match my car but if you paint the edges like Howard just did it will cover up the area that is painted. Just an FYI.

I wanted to offer the services of my local body shop if anyone is interested. You can see the quality of his work on my car and also HHughes1 just posted pictures of the paint work he is doing for him. Its incredible.
If you want a certain part of your hood painted or painted in a special way he can do it. I will show you his quote and all you need to do is pay him.
Some of you have asked about getting your hoods cleared or painted and completed before you get it and I'll be glad to help you with that. That way when you receive your hood it will be all done and ready to install. Just let me know if I can help.
All you need to move from your stock hood are the latches, center latch, hood strut pins, and the trim piece on the front. Then just move the hood from the box to the car. Very simple install.

The owner of the paint and body shop that Keith mentioned is a true craftsman in his trade. Nothing leaves his shop that he is not 100% happy with....this guy wears his reputation on his sleeve. You would have a hard time finding that in a franchised shop.
