FIRST OF ALL... I CAN TELL YOU THAT IT SOUNDS SICK!
No Drone in the cabin..Just a bit loud at like 2100-2250 rpm.. Easy fix, go faster... Lol..
I was going to get the fluid motor's mid section cat delete... but a local friend took me to a great FAB SHOP here that did a great job for $550...![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
I have a OE Tune, Foam Filters, and Now this...
Got to go to the track, car is running 12.10 @ 117.5MPH on worn down street tires... I will post the time slips...
Going to the Dyno this week... I will let you guys know the numbers ASAP!
Please see pics below

Great X-pipe location, pipes definitely looks mandrel bent. You should see strong gains both in mid range and top end. The x-pipe should cancel out most resonance/drone as well.
Good job, especially for $550. On these AMGs, custom is usually the best route as long as you can find a good fab shop locally.

Nice job. Now duplicate them and make us all a set ![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
Looking forward to your dyno results. A video clip would be cool too.
Almost funny that you can get a custom built "anything" for such a substantially lower price then someone making multiple pieces. You da man.
If this with a Kleeman tune would run an 11.99, I'd be stoked.

Looks like a great piece of craftmanship. Everything custom-made is better - you can show off it's one a kind ![Wink](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
Enjoy the raw exhaust noise. It has to be amazing. Just don't forget to use F1 ear plugs

I said this in another thread regarding the prices for these pieces and some people laughed.

Even at 1K I might bite the bullet but sorry, I really feel anything over that is just being plain greedy. Especially since my custom X-pipe for example only cost me a total of 250 installed. Yet some people still feel like 1K+ for just a X-pipe midsection is justifiable.

To the OP, great work! I would love to hear a sound clip. Im sure it sounds fantastic. Just so Im clear, you eliminated both primaries and secondaries? If so did you get a new tune? Also what size piping did you go with? Sorry for all the questions.

This looks really clean. Congrats on getting great custom work done on your car.
I must admit, though, I'm still unclear why people are putting an x-pipe before the h-pipe/resonator? Why not just add the x-pipe and remove the h-pipe resonator and replace with straight pipes or replace the h-pipe resonator with an x-pipe or larger h-pipe? Basically, I'm trying to understand if it's beneficial to have more than one cross-over sections?

I will try to answer all questions...
The guy who made mine is making a jig of it so try to replicate them with out the car. If he is successful he will let me know so he can sell them without needing the car.
They are the same diameter as stock. I believe 2.5 inches and they are mandrel bent.
The car pulls much much harder... especially in 3rd and 4th Gear.. they seem like they are so much shorter....
I will also attach before and after time slips... and video clip...
Software was changed by OE.. As you probably already know Jeremy is the man... It was quick and easy cause I have an ME 97 programmer..

Time Slips and Video clip of first start
Attached are the Before and After time slips... I gained 4mph and shaved off 3/10 off my time... BTW, this was all on Conti extreme DW 340 treadwear street tire... I am ordering rims and D/R's so if you have seen any deals or any suggestions would be appreciated..
Next is the link the video after start off... The smoke is from the Grease they used... It burned off after first test drive...

I've got a hard on from that video.
And $550, seems a bit high to me.
I had mine done for less than half that on my other vehicles. But it is my friend who did it.

In this post here you mentioned that you ran a 12.29 @ 114.9 MPH w/ only the OE Tune.

Please clarify you're before time/MPH.

Super,
I think he's also making the distinction between drag radial runs and street tire runs.
So, it's 60'/ET/mph (street tires) before vs 60'/ET/mph (street tires) after.
I think what TS was saying was that his overall best "before" time was on DR's. But in this comparison, he's showing his best "before/after" on street tires.
Edit: Btw, TS, your car sounds sick!!! You were able to maintain the signature 6.3 deep growl with a nice increase in db.
