Eurocharged Tune + MBH Headers = 11.58 @ 120.66
Looks like your car may have been hot for runs 8 and 9, but I'm really impressed with how consistent your car is, like you said.
There's room for improvement in the 60' time. I hope you know I'm not saying that like an armchair racer. No way. I'm just saying that as you further dial in that part of the race, you will definitely reach 11.4 or better.
Great job.

I hope so but the weather was pretty much perfect for racing yesterday.
There was a slight headwind but I think I'm reaching the limits of what
the car can do as it stands right now. Maybe a high 11.4 run but I think
that would be it.
Thank You.
spinning during some of your burnouts hurt you too. Your car
was getting faster with more runs, it's too bad they closed
early.
Again, it was nice meeting you.

I may go this Sunday to Atco - it's the last day of the season.
They won't throw you out for going to fast, there was a vette
running 11.2's all day yesterday.
I'll let you know.
Mike
Don't give up. You'll get there with a just few more mods!!

Time to update your signature!!
Didn't you change your name from PetroC55 to PedroC63?
The Best of Mercedes & AMG

Yes, I changed it to PetroC63.
I didn't want people to think I owned a C55, so to avoid any
confusion I asked an administrator if it was okay to change
my screen name.

His E63 is no joke, it ran a best of 11.95 that day.
Thanks for the video Tony.
only once. Most of the time my car was a 12.0 & 12.1 car.
I added a RENNtech air box and the best I ran was 11.85
and a couple of 11.9 runs.
ECU has to be removed and sent to the tuner. Typically,
its a 48 hour turnaround time. If you send it on a Monday
you will get it back on a Weds.
Instead of starting a new thread, I figured I would just add my time to Petro's thread (since I have the MBH headers as well
). Sorry for the hijack...Petro - Congrats on your phenomenal run the other night!
btw- my highest trap was 119.42mph with ESP on "Sport" since I just spin way too much and fishtail with ESP "Off." Maybe with DRs, I could run with ESP "Off" and also get a higher trap speed.
Anyway, I'm still happy with my best run...wanting to be in the 11's but I guess I really need DRs.btw - I got several compliments on how awesome my car sounds when driving the 1/4mi. track...I told them although the C63 AMG's stock exhaust is absolutely incredible as is, it's the MBH headers that really open it up!

I see DR's in your future

Mid 11's are definately a possibility with DR's. My best 60' time is
1.75 and I ran an 11.504 @ 122+ so with the proper tires it should
put you in the same area.
Also, with DR's, ESP should definately be set to "Off"
I get the same compliments regarding the sound too.

However, if your car is tuned for 100 octane it will surely make a
difference.
My trap speeds were down initially and then the car just came alive.
So many things can affect trap speed.
1. Wind
Most racetracks have an American Flag flying. Some have one right
next to the starting line. It is put it there so that racers could look
to see the wind direction and roughly how fast it was moving. A
headwind slows down cars, crosswinds can also slow you down, and
a tail wind can help you gain speed and lower ET.
2. Heat/Humidity
Heat is the number one power reducer, which is why we are always
trying to eliminate it (cold air intake, intercoolers, ice). A hot day will
slow the car down, its just how it works.
Humidity, you simply want less. The more humid it is, the less oxygen
there is, the lesser the "quality" air going into your car.
3. Weight
I've seen people take out spares/seats etc. What about gas? I see
so many people show up to the track with a full tank of gas, a big
no-no if your trying to run your best times.
4. Altitude
Some tracks will be able to tell you, or you can find an experienced racer
in the pits with an altimeter. This also effects engine performance
based on air density. Higher pressure will usually give you a better
running car. High pressure usually means sunny days too!
5. Tire pressure
How many of you have a pressure gauge in your glove box at the track?
How many use it? This is huge when dealing with traction/top speed.
Check tire pressures and play with them to find your ideal spot. You
want a balance between traction and top speed. Experiment!
Most tracks have free air somewhere on sight.
