Jons95c36amg 2009 C63 Vs ProPain's 2010 C63

Both tuned with OE tuning.

2010 (me) has Airbox mod and K&N's. Thank you Bruce from TTM.

2009 (Jon) has stock filters and charcoals intact.

The results....

1st race was very close.

2nd gear 40 MPH roll. I got him out off the line but his skinny *** pulled on me about 1/2 car. But even with his 70 pound weight difference at 140 I overtook him and would continue to but I lifted.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rjpe2CIm3jE

2nd race he took me out of the hole. His weight again is helping him. He is able to take about 1/2 car. By the top of 4th gear I was pulling. Shifting into 5th gear I was able to pull 1/2 a car on Jon.

Sorry for the crappy shaky video. Doing unspeakable speeds on a narrow 2 lane road on a bridge is not fun.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KkNqB43b24c

So much for the factory freak. This also proves that either the 2010 has more HP than the 2009 or Jon should go kiss Bruce at TTM's *** and beg him for forgiveness and ask him to do the Airbox mod and K&N filters for him.

Don't think that a '10 is any faster than an '09; although that is certainly possible, there are power variances from any car to another + your airbox mod + high-flow air filters may possibly give you another +5-10WHP. Having said this, you may have edged him out just a tad, but those 2 runs were also very close...neck + neck really.

Yes, keep it going in this thread...

As I stated many time. They are the same car.

But you if consider the weight difference there is no reason I should gain on him. in the 2nd race I pulled a full car on him if you consider he was 3/4 ahead and I pulled to 1/2 ahead by the end.

But yes, very close.

+1 I never said I was faster. Always told Jon our cars are the same and to let it go. He couldnt let it go. Now I got the video. Hopefully he will shut up about how he beats my car all the time and his factory freak.

His weight difference should help him though.

Wow, your car seems stronger up top. It looks like you pulled him in fairly easily at top speeds even when he got the jump and despite his car weighting less.... congrats

So much for the super factory freak

Id love to do a 1 mile run against him. When I let off I was still pulling on him. Plus we were going up hill both races.. On a flat road I would have done better I think.

That's what I was going to say.... that things were looking worse and worse for him as you climbed to higher speeds. I'm glad everything was caught on video

No, There is a small lip on the plastic as it enters the filter. A simple dremel tool cutting off the excess plastic and in theory allowing better flow across the filter.

Jon replaced his Charcoal with K&N's and threw a cell. So hes back on stock charcoals.

Every Sunday when he comes back with his "Wins" against me he says "So much for the airbox mod and K&N's)

There is so much history here you have no idea. Feels good to finally have it on video!

Thanks for the clarification Looks like the airbox mod works.... unless of course he has an under-powered car from the factory

Did he replace the charcoal filters with K&Ns or his regular air filters with K&Ns? The charcoal filters should not really be replaced with any aftermarket filter.... people usually just remove them

Have you ever dyno'd your car? If so, what did it dyno? Just curious. And, maybe you can explain why the M6 (v10) is typically faster than an M5 with the same v10 engine...is it b/c of weight? Thanks.

Hey NO i never dyno'd it. i also had a m5 b4 i had my m6 and it really isnt much of a weight difference maybe just 90 pounds. I think its because of the shorter driveshaft it gets the power to the diff faster.to the wheels.. etc. the m5 is a sedan the driveshaft is extended little things like this plays part IMO

I raced the 2010 C63 today and the 2009 i beat both .IMO the 2010 is faster. but then again when i race the 2009 no passengers for both of us and it was dead even form 40-128 then i pulled away. however i race the 2010 i had a camera man and form 40 he pulled up front i had to play catch up but pull past him at 130-135 so maybe the passenger play the difference

One big difference between the two cars would be the fuel level.

Propain had about 1/2.. How much did Jon have?

Yeah the weight played the difference. My car is slightly faster than Jon's up top so who knows...

Id like to race you from a dig to 150 and see who comes out on top. Im hoping it will be the C63.

I would also wanna do a 1 mile run vs your M6. (Not on the street) and see who comes out on top.

Either way, nice meeting you and the rest of your crew. Good times...

Great, you just gave Jon his first excuse. Im sure he was at 1/2 or less. I know he wouldn't come down with anything more. Plus he did about 5-6 runs before I got to him plus he left to go home and had to come back to do our run. I'm confident he couldn't have been over a 1/2 a tank.

either way Jon is 70 pounds less than me so there go the fuel difference in weight.

From a dig on streets will be fun. Shows more skill. Up top is just a power game.
