Possible for Stock P31+LSD to Make <12secs 1/4?
Was wondering if it would be possible for that set up to hit less than 12 secs on the track on 1/4. Stock without P31 and LSD averaged 12.5 @112-114mph.

I would be surprised if 480HP at the crank can get into sub 12's. Maybe on DR's but I think still it would be difficult. He must of had a file on the car.

Thanks. The one with 11.9 was the newest run in a couple months back. He must have modded it or flashed it.

Think about it, if you try to do a burnout with street tires and no LSD, you essentially just spin the right rear wheel. I'm sure at some point the left rear wheel starts to spin and heat up, but not very long if you're just doing a short burnout, which is what would be recommended with street tires.
So, when you have one hot and somewhat sticky tire and one colder tire, you can get wheelhop.
With DR's, you can get both tires to spin and heat up during the burnout and because the right rear wheel will hook with DR's, the E differential will send the power to the left wheel as well, and you'll get an nice effective launch.

The problem with not having an LSD is that you need DR's to get a good launch with the car.

Yes you can. I ran 12.217 @ 114.45 in Florida in cool weather with no P31. Yes, I was on drag radials but the car was bone stock. Stock filters and everything. All we did was add some drag radials. I am sure with the P31 package at MIR or ATCO you could run in the 11's without a doubt. I only had 360rwhp stock and they are saying the P31's are making over 410rwhp. You will definitely get into the 11's with some drag radials and practice. Good luck!!

Well, I understand what you're saying in theory. However, as I understand it (from others w/ LSD), they don't get any better launches in the 1/4 mi. (or 60ft times) on street tires than those of us w/o an LSD. Hence, the LSD doesn't help w/ launches for whatever reason. What it does help with is drifting around corners and pouring on the throttle while coming out of the apex a lot quicker than a car w/o an LSD.
I agree the LSD will be more beneficial coming out of corners. I can feel that on the street. But I think an LSD will help get the power to the ground more consistently and I would think and hope wheel hop would be eliminated.
I achnowledge our overall 60' times won't be better with an LSD, I mean our potential is unaffected by an LSD, but I think the consistency would improve and wheelhop would disappear. This is with street tires. DR's make up for the E diff.

Your logic is sound however if it is indeed making 410rwhp. Now that you mention it I do remember someone dynoing a P31 putting down 420+rwhp. https://mbworld.org/forums/4163350-post1.html If he doesnt have a freak and you get a car like his than yes you can get into the 11's on DR's for sure.
Good luck with the new car and getting some 11's!!

didn't mthis do 12.1 with just DRs (and i think charcoal delete?)? pretty sure he doesn't have p31, as they didn't have it back then. sub 12's might not be so far away with a p31 car.
