Which tire, Toyo Proxes T1R or Hankook Ventus V12 evo K110
I am very much on a budget...Proxes are $185 a piece (rears) Hankook's are $176.
I have had the Toyos before and they are good for a cheap tire.
The Hankooks got good ratings on Tirerack.

I put on the Hankooks last month but went one width bigger, front and back on OEM rims. They fill out the fenders perfectly and the ride is much better than stock Pirellis but they do give up a very little bit of sharpness but overall, I'd rate the P Zero's a 6 and the Hankooks at least 8 without factoring price, once price is factored in, then I'd give the Hankooks at least a 9 overall.

I'm on my second set of V12's and love them. For the price/performance you cant beat them. My 1st set lasted 10000 miles. The 2nd one I went up a size. I'm still on OEM front but will replace with V12's but up one size shortly.

If you get little rain and/or wanted to track it, I'd go with the Toyos.
For an almost state of the art all-around tire that is competent in the rain, I'd get the Hankooks.
I've owned Toyos before and really liked them.
I own Hankook Ice Bear 300s as my winter tires. They are not true deep snow tires like Blizzaks, but they are W-rated for clear roads and handle glare ice well. I drive my G in snow or stay home. Favorite brand in Germany.
TR doesn't like to sell either brand but is bowing to V12 mania.

While I agree that the Hankook V12s are great bang for the buck (almost an unbeatable value at the moment), I don't think I'd go with them again if given the chance. They ride very well and are quiet but have rather soft sidewalls and don't inspire a tonne of confidence when pushed at high speed. I can't fault them seeing that it is a street tire but there are better dry handling performance tires out there that I would go with when these wear out.
But in the case of the OP, I think the V12s would be a very good choice based on his needs.
