A friend and i are heading over to your side of the world mid Jan. One of the places we are going to is Vegas. We want to hire a exotic sports car, pref the Lambo Murcielago. ANy recommendations? We want the car for 24 hours, as we would like to drive to LA and back in it.

My guess is that you'll get only 100 free miles per day. Count on 570 miles to and from, plus another 100 miles driving around LA and up the Coast Hwy at least to the end of Malibu. I shudder to think of the excess mileage charge but I can check on the whole thing for you.

so you're looking at around $4100 (plus gas)to rent the lambo and drive to LA--WOW
don't they limit how fast you can drive these rentals (really limiting the fun) and if you're caught exceeding this speed limit you get in deep $h!t.
I've always wanted to rent an F-car, but I found the price and the limitations too much for me, I'll have to work harder and save my money so I can buy my own and then beat the snot out of it

 

Unfortunately, that's the problem. There is a device in the car that monitors EVERYTHING........ which makes it a long *** boring ride from Vegas to LA.

 

Never knew about the speed nannys, that makes a rental pointless but I guess it's a safety thing since people may not be used to the power and do stupid things...

 

Never mind the speed restriction ...... they'll know how many times you went to red line and in what gear(s) you were in doing it ..... or how many times you banged off the rev limiter .... your exact location and time and so on.

 

yeah, pretty much the problem!

Visit the maser/ferrari dealership on the strip (I think it's at the Wynn) and for like $20 you can look at the cars for sale and in the basement they have a little collection of cars to check out or buy--and they have a 360 convertible you can sit in (I think they charge for this) and get your picture taken--then they do a cheesey PS job and make it look like you're outside on the strip.
It's been a few years since I was there, they might not do it anymore or it has been changed a little (hopefully at least a 430 vs the 360)

Anyway for like $20-$40 buckets you can sit in an F-car, and save $4050

 

this should be better than going to la. http://www.exoticsracing.com/ go there you get to flog a 458 or gtr around the racetrack for a coupla hundred bucks. 10 laps or so in each you should be good and still have some money left over for the craps table.

Wow this is interesting--but it seems like not a lot of seat time for the money
It really makes the AMG Academy look like a bargain
Still a cool service, it let's you experience driving these exotics for a short period
