Interesting news - I was waiting for the final MY with the 6.2NA to get back into a C63... Hmm...
And more importantly - maybe I just missed the answer - will the 6.2 & MCT be available together?

A face lift always causes a price drop, with or without a new engine. Plus, the new interior is what the current one should have been. I can't wait until the current body C63 drop below 30k, so I can justify owning one as a daily driver!

My personal opinion is.....
Because the C is the lowest priced vehicle, it should only naturally replace the engine LAST compared to all other vehicles....So when they start putting the new engine in many of the 2011's, then the rest in the 2012's, the last car to get replaced will be the 2013 C
I wouldn't expect this to last through the life of the car....

The MCT transmission in the new CL63 5.5TT(664lb-ft) is the same speed shift wet clutch setup found in the current 212 E63 but with new(stronger) clutch packs and revised software that supposedly is torque converter smooth, rev matches on downshifts and shifts much quicker than the C63.
For those unaware of the details, Keith(DadsC63) went through 2 sets of clutch packs and ruined his converter while experimenting with the No2. It seems that MB is aware that these are the weak links as they made the before mentioned changes for the new 5.5TT.
As much as I like my current car, I may consider trading for a new version if a fire sale occurs just prior to the replatformed model which will most likely have a forced induction motor of whatever size. If the coupe looks decent then there may be 2 AMG's lurking in the garage at some point.

I'd be curious if a retrofit for the MCT on our current models would be possible, getting a new C63 would be out of the question (I would end up divorced... and my wife is more important then my car).. But at some point someone is going to wreck a model with the MCT, and the option to pick it up cheaply and put it into the current models would be nice..
That.. and for the love of god.. let us replace the horrible interior with the newer one (ot atleast replicate the functionality.. See http://www.engadget.com/2010/12/27/m...n-with-intern/

From my sources at AMG, they couldn't comment on internal decisions. But they would say, that the C63 will get the new engine and tranny last. And it's fitting that the C63 will be last, granted it's the Baby of the AMG line up. I would say by 2013-2014 we will see the changes that AMG has made with the engine and transmission package for the C63. Some people have said that the new engine will not fit into the current W204 platform, will I can't comment on that. But when the W205 is released, I'm sure it will fit just fine.

The all-new twin-turbocharged 5.5-liter V8 may be Mercedes-Benz's AMG division's much-heralded pride-and-joy engine, but it certainly won't find a home under the hood of every single AMG product. To that point, AutoWeek reports that Mercedes-Benz is working on a naturally aspirated version of the 5.5-liter V8, slated for use not only in the refreshed SLK55, but in the AMG-fettled version of the C-Class coupe, the C55.
This new mill is claimed to produce around 422 horsepower – 62 more than what's currently available in the SLK55. New technologies like a cylinder cut-off mechanism will help improve fuel consumption while still sending a larger helping of power to the car's rear wheels.
AutoWeek also reports that while the upcoming C55 AMG coupe (and its hardcore Black Series version, which is rumored to be in the cards) will use this new 5.5-liter mill, the four-door C63 AMG sedan will retain the 6.2-liter free-breathing V8 that we currently enjoy, and that's just fine by us.

I've seen a couple articles where they gave him the M156 (not the M159) but no where does it say they gave him then MCT gearbox for his 300SEL conversion.

I've been saying it, and people didn't believe me.
NO twin turbo fo rthe C63 Coupe, until about 2013-2014 time frame. I've heard that Mercedes is developing a NA 5.5 good for 422 HP.
