Put in MS109 race gas tonight.

Put in MS109 race gas tonight, About 3 gallons worth (total drum comes in 5 gallons) mixed with CA91 octane. There was a noticeable increase in power especially up top. The AFR at full throttle was a little rich, about 12.9.
But over all the car felt strong and pulled great with the increased octane.
Im going to try to mix in a full 5 gallon drum to my gas and see how much more power the car would get.

Off topic but...I was also monitoring the Intake temp it was reading around 117 degrees at 57 degree weather while driving. But parked it was reading around 170 (I knew these engines get hot but not this hot).
My friend was recommending I go with a water/meth Injection. I dont know how well it works on N/A engines but his 997 turbo was reading around 70 degree's on his intake temp. He also claims on really hot days (90+) the most hes seen the Intake temp was around 100 degrees.
Any thoughts about Water/Meth injection on the C63? Im really considering it..

The gas is VP Racing.

My buddy with the 997 turbo hooked me up. I think he gets it from this place called Manning Fuel in Sun Valley, CA.

Instead of messing with any sorts of injection, I would highly recommend you to look into proper ducting or a louvered hood to decrease intake temperature that way.

IMO meth injection is the absolute best way to cool down your engine.
A vented hood would be a nice way to dissipate heat. But what I was thinking is if somebody made air scoops to put right in back of the grill so that would direct more air through the 2 snorkels that connect to the intake.

not buying it for a minute.

If your car was not detonating or pulling timing, the extra octane is useless.

The fuel is oxygenated. With no detonation issues at all on my race bike it gains 4.5whp. A previous car I had gained about 20whp with the fuel and no changes to the program or boost at all. Needless to say it went way up when the boost and timing were changed. Of course, your mileage may vary...

How would you know?
Mixing 5 gallons of MS109 to 10 gallons of CA91 for example would produce around 95-96 octane. I was skeptical at first too but I did feel a difference in power, especially the next day.

If you don't think a higher octane makes power then go fill up your car with 87 octane.

i didnt think 12.9 was 'rich' for these cars. Also AMG what are you using to log these data points?

I have verified the following on three different dyno sessions: On my M5 which had a 94 octane-optimized tune, running 91 octane gas resulted in a loss of something close to 18HP. There is a difference one can feel in throttle response through the mid/upper-midrange running the 94 octane.

well that's bc you had a tune optimized for 94...not really relevant to our/his situation

Only if this motor is tuned to a max of 91 octane, otherwise totally relevant. I suspect it's tuned in OE form well above that. Back to your drawing board now...

The ECU will advance and retard timing as it sees fit to optimize for more or less octane and the presence (or lack thereof in this case) of dieseling. To really get the most out of high octane fuel you need a tune specifically for that octane...but I have no doubt that a stock ECU will advance timing to make a bit more power.

No, but the latest list of stations that carry 100 octane at the pump is here (mix with 91 octane to desired octane level). I've used four of the stations on the lis...the Alliance station on Sherman Way and the Car Wash in Long Beach used to be the cheapest of the bunch but they are all expensive now. 110 octane is available in 5 gal cans for around $75.
