Aren't they two totally different things ? One is for data acquisition and the other is a radar detector ?? I guess it's personal preference and depends on which one you will be using most...I looked at the Vbox...looks cool but also overpriced.

Seems like I would use the Valentine one alot more then the V box.
I am also debating on getting a Intake spacers kit from Evosport.

The intake spacer kit is a must have in the summer. Just make sure the install is done correctly and new bolts are used - the bolts are one time use!!

V1 and I had no idea they made a jammer for it?! I had the escort blue last summer for my road trip from Dallas to the bay area and from Bay to LA and back to Texas. Saved my a$$ five times at 100mph + but in the city? Forget about it! I took that ***** down every time, way to much noise for everyday. I think ill get a V1 when I move to LA this year. Are Jammers even legal and can they tell you jammed them up?

I've got both and I rarely use the Vbox. The V1 is always in use whenever I start the car, tucked up neatly above the rear view mirror. The Vbox is sorta big and bulky so you probably won't want to have that mounted full time, and really is situational. Bang for buck, V1 hands down. Get the Vbox the next go around.

I have both the V1 and escort... The escort shows the frequency of the KA signal which can be nice for viewing specific neighborhood bogeys....... however, once you have the arrows of the V1 on the highway you won't go back to guessing where the threat is coming from.
Many people in houston run the laser jammers.... there are several on the market that give you MORE reaction time to a laser threat..... but eventually they'll get your speed..... so be careful.

V1 man, that will protect you from tickets.
Vbox will only entice situations where you will potentially receive tickets.

Edit: After pondering it numerous times, I think I finally understand. It's like if you don't overpay, then you can't get it, because it will never be inexpensive enough for the financial limit that you were not willing to exceed. But then, you must not have been willing to overpay in the first place.
Maybe I'm still confused. Did you do really well on the LSAT's? haha

AFTER you get the V1, if you have other friends that are into cars in your area, ask if they would split a vbox with you, since you won't be using it 24/7 anyway. Bring the costs way down..
NOTE: I'm not exactly sure how they work but i'm assuming it's like one of those GTech's which are easily swappable..

Yeah, I guess if I wasn't traveling though all new cities the entire time, and not really ever going back to the same place twice, I might not have wanted to chunk it out the window but I really wanted it to be directional too. I guess I could try it again while not traveling.

If you drive mostly on a highway, get the V1.
If you drive mostly in the city, get Escort 9500ix.
By the way, V1's patent expires some time within the next few month and I am only looking forward to the unit Escort is going to come up with.
