Rotor wear
Ok now I know this is a question that depends on use. But how many miles do you think front rotors are good for non-track regular driving use (I know "regular" driving is an matter of opinion with a C63). Buying a car with 13k miles on it with still the original tires (so the customer has been burning it up). How soon are most of you replacing front rotors? Thanks in advance for any replies.

If the car has 13k miles and still has the original tires, then that means the original owner dind't exactly tear it up. Some members here get only 3-5k miles when they were burning it up. Others only get 7-8k being gentle with their cars. How that car still has 13k miles on original tires is beyond me. lol It definitely wasn't from "burning"it up lol

I bought my 2010 C63 six months ago, and the rear tires are nearing the wear bar indicator. But you can get easily 40-50K out of the rotors. I have and E63 with two piece rotor with 34K on them, with plenty of life left. So it really depends on your driving style. But 40K is the norm.

Thanks guys. I am buying a C63 with 13k miles and pictures of the front rotors look like they are developing a lip on the outer edge of the rotors. Think it's just me. Thanks again guys.

If you are concern about the lip just take it to a machine shop and have them resurface for $30-$50 (all 4). I am not planning on replacing mine for at least 2 or 3 brake pads changes.

That is just normal wear, my E63 rotors have a lip as well, but plenty of life left in those rotors.

Wear limit is 3mm on the front.
I had 50K KM on mine and only 1mm was worn off. The pads were completely done. I threw new pads on and away I went. Cost me 400 bucks compared to the dealers 3500-4k for all new pads/rotors front and back when the rotors had tons of meat on them still.

Thats alot better than my 2010 ISF only 33,500km and the front pads and Rotors were due for replacement.
Quote from Lexus Australia came in at 2,100USD for the front rotors and pads were around 510USD
So I ordered some Front Centric Rotors off Tirerack.com and they were delivered within a week @ 530USD and pads at 140USD to Sydney, Australia
Gotta love the price people pay in the states
