Affalterbach Shifter and Command controller

I know a lot of people including myself were interested in the Affalterbach Edition shifter. I priced it at the dealer and it was over $1,000 AUS and you had to buy the whole shifter and boot apparently.
I decided to make my own and also did the command controller knob.

Very easy. Bought 2 emblems and removed the backing tape that was on them and used my own. Normal double sided tape on shifter and 2 layers of 3M tape on Command controller. They cost me around $20 each plus shipping. I bought them from here http://www.myroadster.net/

Thanks for the tip! Did you remove the factory MB star logo from the shifter first or apply the AMG one over the existing one?

I didn't remove the MB star off shifter I just went over the top of it and used normal double sided tape to hold it on.

I wrote then an email a few days ago but didnt get any response.
Where can I find the emblem on their website?

EDIT: I read your previous post that you have to ask for the emblems. I'll write them another email.

I received my emblem from Jerry a ForMyMercedes but I'm not happy about the way it's glued on top of the original gear shifter emblem.

Does anyone know if we can take out the old emblem and insert a new one?

I don't know if you can remove the original MB decal. But I would just remove the adhesive tape that came with the Affalterbach Crest, and glue it on. That way it will lay flat on top of the original. Just my two cents

I want to keep my original shift knob. I don't think the 100bucks knob are covered with leather.

That's what I'm leaving as a final solution. I would rather get this look (the emblem is pushed into the shift knob):

When did you order it? I emailed him & he told me that he was out of them.

You need to remove the white tape that the emblem came with when you bought it off Jerry. I then used very thin double sided tape and stuck it over the top of MB emblem on the shifter. Have a look at my the pics on the first post.
