... so what about a rear facing child seat?
I know that my previous car was a complete mess, as my wife had to sit in the back seat.

Now that my son is front-facing, we're going to buy a second car seat so he can ride dad's "vrooooooom" (16-month old's words). Every night, he asks to go out and press buttons in the car and pretend to drive - I've set him on the road to a very expensive obsession!

If it's a true infant seat you need, you might look at the Maxi-Cosi seats. They're the smallest, if I recall. For his infant seat, my son had a Peg Perego Primo Viaggio and it was pretty big. The newest seat on the Canadian market is the Orbit Baby - which is pretty cool - but I'm not sure how big it actually is.

When I was test fitting it was a Britax that fit rear facing in the 63. It is short but wide so 3 adults and a car seat maximum.

You can also pick up one of those black university blankets that have a pocket for the feet at the bottom. The pocket slips perfectly over the headrest and the blanket covers the back seat....you can slip it on and off when the kid is in the car
