another 12" of snow = H&R spring install

has been the worst winter up here in the northeast for a while with the amount of snow we've been getting but I couldn't wait till spring, installed H&R springs today. Car is in full winter mode (covered in sand / salt and wearing 235 snows on all 4 corners). Have only driven it about 4 miles with the drop but feels about the same.

(Paul I blame you for this I never planned on lowering my car until I saw how good yours came out)

Callmiro, how did you do your hid fogs? Did you have to mod your housing?

Personally i don't see deep snow being a bad thing. i love drifting around town on fresh snow. Silently floating across it. I also love the fact that my car out handles 95% of all other cars on the road.

I'm very confident in my car and its very manageable out of line. These are the reasons a have a Mercedes Benz. Owning.

I'm running a19x10 with ET 50 in the back too with 275's and its perfect with the P30 suspension....but it might be a little rub happy with the H&R's

that's what I'm thinking. I'm looking for a "narrow" 275 probably a Falken. Then roll the fenders and hope for the best.

Jeff, your euro plate bracket came in. All I can say is that it's CLEAN! I'm going to see if I can 3m tape it up lol. I do not want to drill holes...MB's products are cut top notch. Even if it is just a piece of overpriced plastic. It's one piece of plastic that I'd overpay for lol.

Totally good idea....if you can get it to work with the rolled fenders then you will have a killer stance

fronts might be on the close side too. 19x8.5 et35 plan on running 245/35's. luckily the front fenders are metal so I can roll those a little as well.

Nice. I'm glad you got it and everything went smooth.

My original plan was to run an AMG plate on the front like all the MB show cars but I ended up selling both the plate and finally the euro frame.

I wouldn't do an ET 35 in the front...it will rub with the H&R springs.....go with ET45/40 and then if you need to push it out a little more you can put a hubcentric H&R spacer (which is what i did below)

There's not alot of play with the H&R springs

My wheels are also 19x10 with low 50mm offset... so let me know what needs to be done to avoid rubbing with your H&R? TIA ... I want to drop my car so bad, but not willing to put a baseball bat on my fenders yet... hehehe!

So maybe doing this in the middle of winter wasn't the best idea just noticed I broke the lower mesh grill. Probably just pulled too close to one of the millions of snow banks and put something through it? Get Mercedes parts has it listed for like $60 so not a big deal. Anyone know if the bumper has to come off to replace?

I already asked at the Facelift thread, but this seems to be a better place to get an answer anyway. What do you think the new C63 is gonna be like. As they've been talking about better handling, doesn't that automatically mean a lower car? Just kind of worried about the winters with the sh*tload of snow that has been falling this year.

Better handling doesn't mean lower ride height. There are lots of other factors in handling I've probably made my car handle worse by just doing springs. This is really a cosmetic only mod. If I went with a full coilover or matched the shocks to the springs and took it a step or 2 further with bigger sways and bushings then handling would have gotten better. But I wouldn't worry about it any car from the factory is going to sit way too high

Your car is looking really good minus the snow. Love the blacked out badges etc. on the silver.
What's next Jeff?

You will need to pull the bumper cover to get at the taps on the inside to remove the lower grill. It is not really that bad of a job but a little time consuming. O well so it goes...

Whats next......I have a pretty nice set of 19's ready to go on in the spring but I'm not sure spring is ever coming. Getting another 12-15" of snow this coming week to go on top of the nearly 3 foot ground pack. Pulling out from a side street is a leap of faith.

Sux bumper has to come off to replace lower grill.

Callmiro, I would put everything in your garage outside, and put your C63 inside. Just by looking at the stuff you have in there, it's just a thought...
