navigation issues? just curious..
)none the less.. took my car to the beloved stealership.. they stated that they re installed the headunit's system and it would work fine.. not only was this a lie (all my navi history points i had tried to use were still in the "last destinations" and.. my radio presets) it still did not work, with the same issue i called once i got home from the dealer and told them it's still not fine.. they said that it was, but i had photo's for proof on the cars map.. i was told to return the next day and bring it back

gave in the car.. they said THIS time they SAW the issue unlike last time..
they proceeded with doing "diagnostics" to the navi that all came out clean and so they changed my antenna on the car.. which i also had to wait for it to be painted and installed.. did not have a car for about 5 days

when i got it.. it worked fine (like it should have from the beginning) BUT once in a blue moon i still get the issue that my navi does not know what my coordinates are, but by a mile or so (still doesn't help because it can't guide me) quickest bypass to it is only turning the car FULLY off waiting for the computer to turn off on the odometer too and then turning it back on and it maps me again.. any quicker ways to hard reset your coordinates without turning off the car fully OR.. any ideas what may be causing this.. it's not too common now it happen s very very very rarely, but still it's so annoying and shouldn't be happening with a brand new car

This is a common issue. The data gets downloaded from the satellites themselves. Most phones and handheld devices have an option to force an update, I have yet to find that option in most vehicle units though.
The only time I have ever seen a car get the GPS completely screwed up, is when it is transported via ship or truck to a geographic location that is a significant distance (a few states, an entire ocean) from when the GPS was last turned on...
This really screws with things.
