I have a few questions about the C63 technical functions.

1. How to make the seat reset to open position when turning off car? I keep bumping my leg into the steering wheel to slip in the seat because it doesn't move back when I exit the vehicle.

2. Do both sideview mirros have auto night vision properties, or just the driver's side? There's a thin film on the driver's side about .5 cm wide. Passenger's side does not have it.

3. What temperature should it reach before I drive the vehicle? In fahrenheit please.

4. There are two buttons that look like they are for fog lamps. The bottom does turn on the lamps and shows up green on my display. However, the top button turns orange, and doesn't seem like it does anything.

go into the settings via your odometer console.. i am not sure, but i believe under convenience there's a setting called easy entrance or something like this.. it pushes the seat back every time the car is exited and will not go into your driving position until you have entered the vehicle and sat.

the orange one turns on your rear fogs in the tail lights.. it's just an additional red in the tails to help others see you when the roads are not clear under a lot of fog, if you get upgrade your fogs to either a lamin-x yellow film or HID's the one that lights green is VERY helpful for riding with all the lights you want on (in this case, headlights and fog combo)

1. In the vehicle settings, you want to turn on the "easy exit" option. (Not sure of the name). The seat will move backwards as soon as the engine is off and the door is opened.
2. Not sure.
3. I would like to know this also - but my gut feeling is it doesn't matter. I believe the computer limits what the vehicle is even capable of until it reaches certain operating temps.
4. One is front fogs, the other is the rear fog light.

Um, how do I shrink my sig? The corner tabs aren't letting me work them...

Doesn't anyone read their Owners Manuals anymore?
1. It's in the settings menu, under convenience in your cluster. this feature allows the steering wheel and seat to move back out of the way for entry and exiting of the vehicle.
2. Only the drivers side mirror and rear view have the dimming feature.
3. The designers at AMG designed the car to operate in below 0 weather. You can drive the car when its cold, but you need to wait until the oil hits 181' F until you can drive enthusiastically. I usually let the car warm up for 5 minutes, before driving off. But until the oil is warm I never rev it past 3000 rpm.
4. The fog lights are green and the red are the rear fog lights.

Thanks, I haven't abused her yet. Oil temp starts at around 75F, I usually let it sit for a couple minutes and it hits around 110-120F before I reverse the car.

As long as you let the oil warm up first, so that it can lubricate all the lifters then your fine. Starting it up, and hauling a** to work with the engine cold eventually hurt it, as the oil isn't properly lubricating all of the components.

It is best to just drive the car to warm it up, just dont let the RPM's go up high....driving it will warm everything up as well... differential tranny etc... it will also warm the cats up faster...

Letting the car sit to warm up is a waste and an old practice that isnt needed anymore, some even say it is bad for the car over time, causing build up in the engine.

Just a quick point for Q3: if you use your AMG menu during start up, you can see your temps are low and it blinking, which means the temps are low for aggressive driving. But once it is above 181F (I like 190 to be safe), then it's go time!

p.s. the thin film on your left mirror is the powered polarized light filter.

The real issue is this, on very cold mornings say 32 degrees. The oil hasn't warm up sufficiently to make it to every component in the valve train, and punching it from a cold start will cause engine wear. I let the car warm up for 3 minutes, before I put it in gear to drive to work. Driving it does warm up all the fluids. All I'm saying is to let the car warm up a little before you drive it. Don't just start it up and punch it. I remember that BMW had a thing in their M3 and M5 where it had a light around the RPM cluster that showed when the oil was warm enough to rev the hell out of it. The engine would only allow you to rev it to a certain point until the oil is warm enough.

It was -36.4 F here this morning. Glad I park inside over night. Sad I park outside all day. Hopefully it will get up to -20 by the afternoon.

I would say "I feel your pain," but fortunately, Houston rarely ever hits below 20F, not negative, just 20F, lol.

I agree with this as well. Just take it easy until the water and oil temperatures are up to operating levels.

The easy entry/exit on the 2010 C63 only moves the steering wheel to the highest setting and returns it to the previous setting after entering the vehicle with ignition on.

The autodimming function works on the drivers side exterior mirror, as well as the interior rear view mirror. The exterior passenger side mirror doesn't have it.

The answer to number 4 is that in Germany when you pull off to the side of the road it is illegal to put on your hazards (unless there is a real hazard) so you are supposed to use these lights to allow other drivers to see you. In my old Audi, the lights actually only lit up on the drivers side. Not sure about the C63 though (whether it's both rears, or just driver's side).

The seat doesn't move, only the steering wheel. At least in '09.

Funny how things change over the years. 09's all mirrors dim. Also fogs and rear fog indicators are not on the dash they are on the headlight switch.

My 08 C350 4Matic didn't dim on the passenger side either.

Last question about rear fog lights. The button only turns on my driver's side rear fog light. I'm guessing it only does it that way for braking reasons. Is this normal?

Yes, this is normal. The rear fog light is just for the visibility function, in heavy rain, snow or fog. There is no current way to turn off the auto dimming drivers mirror that I have found. I like this function, only wished that the passenger side would do it as well.
