What would you do?
I have a dilemma....I'm looking to lease a c63 with p31 and LSD, however there are not many cars out there as the refresh is coming later this year. So I find myself with limited options, especially if I stand firm on wanting the LSD. This will be my DD and will put snows on the car in the winter much like my past M3's.
The question is--should I get a color (either exterior or interior) that I'm not in love with--just to get the LSD? I've done the searches and I am aware of the pros and cons....
BTW I lease my cars so aftermarket LSD's are not an option.
Thanks

An aftermarket LSD from Quaife is what - $1500? Over the course of a 2 or 3 year lease, that's less than $100 a month, and you could probably sell it after that or just leave it in place (9 out of 10 MB dealers won't catch that on lease return), whereas being stuck in a car where the color (interior or exterior) just sucks.

Why get a color you're not 100% comfortable with? Like Speed said a Quaife LSD is around $1500.00. Would you rather get a car, who's color you don't like & still spend the extra money on a AMG (OEM) LSD which is more tha $1500.00. Or get a color you like & get an aftermarket LSD. Either way, you're still spending money on an LSD.

The P31 package is pretty overrated, I think. I really don't believe a Quaife would void any kind of warranty either, since (as I mentioned) most Benz techs / SWs wouldn't notice it, even if there was a problem.

I had an ML that was beige on the exterior and interior with dark brown panel above the dash...it wasn't pretty and i didn't like it but, as you, took it because it was the only option. I do not recommend it...wait for the new one is my recommendation.

I don't consider it overrated, but it is a good investment if you like a little flare without voiding anything. Of course aftermarket tuning and parts might pull a few more hp, overall it isn't too bad. Btw this is just a casual post, not busting your chops.

I like the steel grey, but I am willing to go with iridium or palladium. When I looked at a palladium silver R class I thought it had some pearl/gold/tan tones that I didn't like. Black will drive me nuts--too hard to keep clean for a DD
although the palladium cars I see on the forum look like a nice dark silver--which I like!

I personally love how the Steel Grey Metallic looks on our W204's. Hence, that is the reason why both of mine were Steel Grey! If you love the color and the only option missing is the LSD, then you should buy that car and have the lsd installed aftermarket. The Steel Grey color is really quite an impressive color as it appears quite dark at night and blueish during the day.
