OE Tuning C63 AMG
Gintani Header back exhaust Results
Here are the results and some pictures of the long awaited Gintani Header back Exhaust for C63 AMG. After the last round of testing the car was flashed to stock, the exhaust installed, adaptations cleared with SDS, over 60 miles of driving with the exhaust and the factory stock tune prior to this dyno session.
The results are as follows for the attached Dynograph:
Stock Car Baseline - Orange
Removal of Charcoal filters and the addition of K&N Filters - Blue
Gintani Header back exhaust with stock tune - Pink
Gintani Header back exhaust with ECU tune - Red & Green
The feel of the car with just the addition of the exhaust is as good as a tuned car feels down low. The exhaust + OE Tuning tune = Awesome!!!
I may be biased as this is my own personal car, but I think this exhaust has the best sound of any of the hundreds of C63's I have seen and heard.

If such a setup was available, would it be a problem if part of the exhaust is 2 1/2" and the middle part is 3"?
This exhaust setup is really clean and obviously makes great power. But, if I were to install this exhaust, I would want to keep stock C63 mufflers.

That's because the stock cans have very little (if any) baffling and sound deadening material - they are a straight through design hence the raspy exhaust note that Alex hates so much and was the reason why he developed his own cans which sound much more "tuned". Personally I think the stock cans sound much better and more raw - to each his own.

I have seen the inside of the C63 exhaust and it is indeed a straight flow design. I personally love the sound of the stock muffler.

I like the smoothe sound of the Gintani exhaust, and I really admire the power it makes. But, I like the throatiness of the AMG system more.
