Exhaust for the C 63 which does not have resonance

Ok, so as the topic states, i am wondering if there are any custom exhaust systems out there that bring no resonance whatsoever. I hade the SS on my ML 63 and it was quite awful on low rpm's. Just making preps for the new car.

Thanks in advance for your inputs.

Akrapovic. I have it on my C63 and love it. It's a fantastic system in all aspects, except the price!

The price of Akrapovic justifies its quality.

I can't find any headers on their web-site. Do they have any?

I don't think they do. Their C63 evo system starts right after the primary cats.

I was just quoted EUR 3.000 (USD 4.000) for the slip-on and EUR 5.000 (USD 6.750) for the Evo system. How does that compare to the US prices? I was assuming that for once we could get a bit better prices in Europe since Akra is produced in EU but that does not seem to be the case...

The one thing i don't like about the Akrapovic exhaust system is that it comes with square tips. I wish they would make it in ovals/round also.

You guys justify your purchases by blowing smoke up your ....
There is nothing that justifies $6,750 for a set of cat backs and down pipes.
I am not sure what the OP is looking for but if it is power, then long tube headers are the best way to go.
I have driven in a car that had MBH headers and there was no drone. It was just very loud past 3K rpm.
I am not debating that the Akrapovic system is the best in quality and looks and this is a hefty MB tax...

Even paying the 3,000 or so for the slip on akra exhaust is ridiculous. I don't doubt the cost because of the titanium, but to gain only 5 hp and save 20 lbs, thereabouts.....your money could be much better spent elsewhere. You could get longtubes and a tune with a significant HP increase for what you get with the full akra package. I think the akra sounds good, but to me it's too refined and F1 sounding for my taste. I like the old school rumble...folks hear it and say, "Damn, is that a Mercedes?"

+1

The sound of the stock exhaust really gives this generation C-AMG it's soul and character. Don't change it.

Even money & Sincity: thanks, just a couple of hours ago went through some old video clips of my own, some youtube clips on stock and then some with second party exhaust systems. I came to the same conclusion. It's raw and awesome as it is. When i installed the SS system on the ML i told the guys that i want it to sound as much as possible like the C63. So why change it now?

OE Tuning C63 AMG
The Gintani full system is cat-less and is quieter than a car with no cats. Sound is deeper on the lowend when compared to stock.
