Got a C63 today! So this is what "perma-grin" feels like...

Not trying to rain on your parade since I am a Benz fan as well and opinions vary
When I see one on the street they look way to boring and generic..now since I have been looking at them and test driving them
I am going to buy a CL65 or possibly a 030 black on black CLS55 which is on autotrader for under $40k .... both of these cars are the sexiest AMG's built IMO
I was stoked about getting a C63 but I feel it looks too generic..like I am driving a 300 with spoilers....EVERYBODY buys a 300 now with those damn $349 a month deals....they are everywhere!!!! Even though they could own a CLS55 or CL65 for $450 a month ....and the power is nothing compared to a CL65 or a even a CLS55.....my buddy with a 100k mile stock CL65 raced a C63 a week ago and he destroyed him as he was spinning tires to almost like 60 mph.......sorry to admit this...I test drove 3 of these cars....I am not a fan anymore ...a AMG fan but not of this car....for $45-$50k? that is crazy money when you can get a CLS55 for under $40k or a CL65 which is the top of the line King AMG for under $40k as well
My other buddy who owned the graphite C63 who had mods and was running 121 through the 1/4 just sold his to buy a 2005 CL65 locally with 76k miles------ now its my turn...I hate having a slow CLS500

Try the new topic button and post your thoughts in your own thread. This one is about my purchase, and just like we all have different tastes, buying a car is no different. Whether you like a Benz or a Pinto, it really doesn't matter to me. Good luck finding what YOU like, I've found what I like.

To everyone who gave me a warm welcome - thank you. The worst part is the car is in my garage and I had to fly to LA this morning on business. However it's raining up in Sacramento, so it looks like it's going to be in the garage for at least a few days before I can get her out on the road.

The C63 was the answer to the M3..and 3 series .not to what Mercedes stands for which is rich engineering and a bold statement...I DRIVE A BENZ ....

2. You are getting a much rarer by model car...50k C classes are made annually and only 2500 CL class cars are made annually and less then 10k CLSs' are made annually...

4. You are simply getting ALOT MORE car for you money....and when I drive my car I just bought I want myself and other people to know I AM driving a $100k or $200k car I PAID much less for hence the depreciation.....ONLY i KNOW THAT!!...LOL.....not a rental car with more power...

I have a 270k mile 5 year old Chevrolet pickup...I am dead sure a Benz can take more miles since it cost 5 times more and is made from better materials and engineering...I have seen a few 200k AMG's running as new

Nah, don't mind trolls like him too much. For me the only AMG that make sense in the line up are the C63, SLK55, SL65, and the SLS. For the money of a new CLS or E63, I much rather to have the C63 plus a GT-R. I don't buy used and there are too many factors on models with used prices... or may be we should all go cheap and get a used GT-R for about $55k then leave him to eat dust .

I bought it for $70k with 300 miles..sold it a month ago for $63k with 17k miles...I was running 10.76@130 with it...
I had that and my CLS500...I didnt want to continue paying $1000 a month for a car I drove once a week...
And I wouldnt buy any car new unless I was worth millions and millions or I was buying a entry level truck...
The cars I compared the C63 to were

All of those cars are less then a rental car C63.....and are much cooler and much much better built....

On topic: Congrats, looks like a very clean example Unixadm. Yes, the one weak point of all Benzes fitted wit the 7G is the poor response in manual mode but other than that you're going to love the car. And nice Interceptor, I've wanted one for a while as a cruiser.

Only an idiot with a lot of cash buys any of these cars new...they depreciate like rocks and WHEN U LEAVE THE LOT...is is used...Believe it or not.....I have had 100k mile cars and 1000k mile cars...and I didnt see a damn difference to tell you the truth....
I had planned to ignore your idiotic trollish comments, but some things have to be addressed. You want to compare 6-7 year old CL65's that's out of warranty to a 1-2 CPO low mileage car? Have you ever owned a CL55 or 65 before? They cost an arm and a leg to maintain! Why don't you leave this guys thread alone and let him enjoy his purchase? If you want to rant and b*tch about how you think 6-7 year old out of warranty cars are better than a newer car, go create a thread and rant. Most of us here bought the C63, because that is what we want, not because that's all we could afford. Good luck finding buyers for your 6-7 year old CL65 with no warranty and 100+k miles.
You can't seem to get away from the notion that we didn't max out our budgets and "ONLY" bought a C63. Wake up! Your statement about a 70k C63 not being a Mercedes when compared to a 150k Merc. That's like saying a M3 is a glorified econo box when compared to a 760iL. Go crawl back into that little hole you crawled out of and spare us from your idiotic statements.
