I hope it's fixed now.

Love it! I couldn't stop laughing at his rant and all the space, dragon tiger, and wizard warlords crap that was coming out of his mouth!!!

Glad to know you took the purge valve thing in your own hands and fixed it!!!! You get major bad *** points for that one....gonna buy you a couple beers if I ever see you man.

Guy is out of his mind! Loving the little sound bits, of all his looney quotes.

Beers sound good man!!

It literally took me 10 mins to do this. Hardeset thing is the metal hose clamps. Stealer must have a special tool for them, but i managed it with a pair of curved jaw pliers.

And another update...

"GAS Cap Loose" Light again, and CEL back... This is getting ridiculous. Gas cap is brand new, and Purge Valve is new updated part. Guess its back to the stealer.

I'm sorry to hear that bro. What a pain in the butt. Mine's going to the dealer on Tues but for something different.

Please update when you know more.

Sorry to hear Walter... our cars are way too sensitive & prone to CEL. I had mine on the first day of delivery, so I get paranoid now.

Sucks! Never had any issues in the 11K miles. I now smell gas when i walk near the back of the car. No leaking, but im guessing there is a vent leak somewhere.

Regarding the gas smell, I smell gas off and on with my car as well. When I push the car hard for a short period I smell the fumes sometimes.

Interestingly, when the car is tuned I smell gas almost all the time.

Yes, it is more prominent after driving hard. Ive also been tuned since 1500 miles.

You guys should try long tube headers, catless and a tune.

It smells like the race track.

My last car -- 2010 Camaro SS -- had a KB twin screw, ARH LT's (1 7/8"), cat delete, and a Corsa catback.

It stunk! haha I liked the smell but it was a little much for daily driving out here in CA.

The sound was obnoxiously loud too. And it didn't really sound that good.

Car threw a CEL and turns out its the purge valve again. Talked to my SA and apparently this could somewhat effect the way your engine runs. Could this be a problem on the 2009 models? Is there any permanent solution to this?

My C63 threw a CEL at 15k miles which was about 4 weeks after I bought it. Dealer replaced the purge valve and it's been fine for the last month. Thought this was such a common problem that the prior owner would have replaced it. Go figure.

This is what i was assuming it was, thats why i personally bought, and installed the updated PV. "Gas Cap Loose" comes on quite a few times while driving now, and of course the CEL is on. Weathers been ****, so I havent driven the car, and havent got it to the dealer. I will post the outcome when i get it over there. Im starting to wonder, if it could be the Vapor Canister? The smell of fuel has been very strong at the rear of the car the last few times I drove it. There are definetly no fuel leaks.

Can you guys check to see if your new PV is PN: 000-470-8893

Thanks!
Walter

had CEL and dealer replaced purge valve but CEL came back on after a week
they replaced the intake manifold gasket and bolts and it seems to have solved the issue.

From looking at my service record, they replaced the "purge control valve". Not exactly sure what that means but hopefully that fixed the problem.

Can anyone confirm what code was thrown when the purge valve went? Was it a P2026?
