OE Tuning C63 AMG
P31 vs Regular C63 Comparison
Here is a video of a 2011 P31 C63 AMG vs. 2010 C63 AMG
http://www.youtube.com/user/OEtuning...12/VxFiC6_oMsA
Both cars are:
* 100% factory stock
* Running Continental Contact Sport Tires
* under 5k miles
* CA91 Pumpgas
- non-P31 car has 2xECUs
1xFactory Stock ECU (unopened)
1xTuned ECU by OE Tuning
Comparisons between regular C63 (tuned & untuned) and Stock C63 with P31 performance package. First 2 runs are both cars in 100% factory stock form. 3rd run is Stock P31 C63 vs Stock C63 with OE Tuning tune.
Conclusion: A stock P31 C63 is comparable in performance to a tuned regular C63.
Enjoy....

Brabus Tune vs. P31 Tune on the dyno = nearly identical
Kleemann K1 Tune (2 cars) vs. P31 Tune on the dyno = nearly identical
Eurocharged Tune vs. P31 Tune in the 1/4 mile = nearly identical
Thanks for adding more data.

Hey guys, we had some solid runs down there...Im the P31 car and when I ran with the OE tuned car we were exactly the same...we did a 3rd run but cameras werent rolling and we had both got perfect starts (exact same time) and it was EXACTLY even.
Before the he swapped ecu's...I would pull pretty hard as you can see in the video. And in the 2nd run he actually got the jump on me and was probably a car ahead and I got back up and started pulling on him again. So the P31 is pretty impressive and the tune is very impressive to go from car lengths to dead even.

Is there a difference in AFR between stock C63 (not tuned) and P31? And is there a difference in AFR between OE Tune C63 and P31?
If there is a difference, would you guys mind sharing what that difference is?
Also, does a P31 car have the same adaptive abilities for increased octane as an OE tune (91 octane file) car?
Edit: I forgot to say, cool runs guys. Great research.

Nearly identical curves and values.

^^ All those graphs were showing AFR of 13.0 at WOT top rpm range...lean no? I've always considered 12.0-12.5 WOT n/a to be a safe range, OE what do your AFR come out too?

One of the things I noticed about the OE tune was the increase in part throttle poke. So, I wonder what the torque lines would look like between an OE tune and a P31, K1, Brabus, etc.

thanks guys for the data and vids
glad to see the P31 is holding its own and hopefully this will help silence some of the P31 haters
Now if this damn snow will melt I can take my beast out and remind myself why I spent so much money for this "museum piece" as my wife calls it

Awesome! Great data. Thanks Jeremy and others who have tested this.
I'm really surprised, more power to the P31! Talk about underrating the HP. I guess its worth it if you only want a C63 with a tune and no warranty troubles. Its quite an expensive price for that tune though.
I guess GT3 wont be getting an OE tune after seeing this. Now someone go see how a MHP tune stacks up to a P31!

Thanks for doing this testing and posting the results. It's great to have more data! It's also great to see some consistency start to appear in the results as super points out.
