My Cats were stinking up a storm like nasty farts!
Guys,
I floored my car from a standstill to about 80 mph and the inside of my car stunk up like someone farted real bad. I thought it was a one time annomoly, so I tried it again and same results. I've floored the car before, but never had this happen. Is my car running too rich? Do I have any other issues? Is this happening to anybody else?

I have not had this problem in my car. If it happens again, i would suggest taking it to the dealer.

The only explanation that I can offer you, is that the car is responding to your throttle input, when your flooring it. And the minute that you back off the throttle, so much fuel has been dumped into the cylinders, and your smelling the vapor from the fuel being dumped in the exhaust.

LOLz...First thing out of my girls mouth was, "Did you just fart?" It stunk so bad, I thought, damnz...did I just let one loose and not know it? lol Seems strange that the car was running that rich that the cats were letting out that sulfuric smell.
thats what happens when the cats aren't fully warm (or working well, but i doubt that since it's brand new) so your smelling probably the sulfur and rich fuel mixture...it happened a few times to me on many of my cars if you run them hard

I knew you guys would get a kick outta this. :p The car was running at 197 degrees. So it was fully warmed up, but it was a cold night. Oh wells. Since this is the first time that it happened, I'll wait and see if it happens again.
rotten egg smell = clogged cats
I'd get those things checked out asap, and avoid getting on the throttle too much. This can be very rough on the car.
Never heard of this on the C63, but I've definitely seen a few cars blow an engine due to this.

I'll check when I get home.
I hope that's not the case as I have less than 2k miles on this ride.

Lots of ideas, but the common one is bad cat.

Hmmmm...I don't think it is great that you can smell exhaust in the car at all whether it smells bad or not. Driving with the windows down? Exhaust leak?
Blame it on the dog....

I tried to replicate the issue yesterday, but could not. I guess it's a one time occurance. I'll keep an eye out or noise for the issue. The was lazy and didn't change it to S mode and dind't shut off the traction control. Maybe when the TC kicked in, it caused a lot of unburnt fuel to flow into the catalytic converter. Last night, I did what I normally do and put it into S mode and put the traction control into S. It launched quite nicely. A little back end slide and off I go!
bahahaha
they are just breaking in
enjoy the car, its got warranty. i have 9/10 smell like that with the smell of rear tires melting
ive had cars with 20km do that, and c63s with 25000km

I'm close to 1000 miles on my C63 and starting to drive it hard when traffic and conditions permit.
I've noticed as soon as I come to a stop it indeed stinks of rotten eggs / nasty dog fart smell. This is only after a very "spirited" drive.
I'm all stock except for Eisenmann Race exhaust, but that shouldn't have anything to do with it, as it's installed after the cats and they weren't touched.
How could it be clogged cats on a brand new car? Wouldn't I see a fault / CEL?
Or is it just part of some strange break in period of the cars ***
In all seriousness, the smell is incredibly strong, anyone up to 10 feet away is going to wonder why I'm driving a C63 around with cow **** manure in the trunk.

i'm running catless and this happened to me about once or twice... it didn't smell like farts though, just a slight smell of whatever it was but it was inside the car with the windows rolled up on the highway... not like i was stopped at a light and i could smell my exhaust... i don't remember the exact circumstances... but i always wait for my oil temps to reach up there before i do anything kind of spirited driving... it hasn't happened since then to my recollection
