H&R springs - Review
I just ordered my H&R springs... and have few questions after searching this forum?
1) I read ppl have right/left pull after installing the springs... even after alignment... any fix for this? Is it common on all the H&R springs or it's about luck?
2) I read some had to use different camber bolts during alignment... is it necessary for the install of springs or only for coilovers... if yes, what is the part number for the bolts?
3) I also read about different springs pad to adjust the height in the rear... can someone explain... are the different pads included with the H&R springs?
4) Lastly, the infamous "roll or not to roll" the rear fenders due to the separation of the fenders... what's your opinion on this matter from ppl who has done it? Some ppl shaved their wheels hubs, is it safer than rolling/shaving fenders?
Thanks in advance for your help!!
2. no camber bolts used. I could see these helping more in the back, adding some negative camber for just a little more space to avoid rubbing. not sure if they are even available though, haven't seem much on them.
3. springs don't come with any pads. I used the stock ones just make sure to grease them up with some white lithium if you reuse or change them. Not sure where to get them and what difference they would make or even why different sizes exist.

The car drives straight. No pulling sideways after allignment. You can feel it's a bit stiffer when the road gets bumpy. Overall it's more of a visual than performance mod but that's what I was going for.
Don't think about it too long - just buy the springs and install them

3. You can buy pads in different thicknesses so you can adjust the rear ride height a little. Superlubricity posted on this here: https://mbworld.org/forums/c63-amg-w...010-c63-2.html
GL with the install.

1) I'm glad to hear the chance of pulling right/left is minimal, and hope an alignment will fix this if I do experience this problem.
2) I will let my alignment shop deal with the bolts (if required).
3) I guess I will be using the stock pads & keep my fingers crossed it will give me an even drop with the front.
Edit: I prefer the look with the spring pads #4 (part number A 210 325 04 84)... where can I buy this online?
4) I'm still unsure what to do if I rub? I was told by my wheel company to do 265/30 instead, but I think 265 on x10 rim looks silly stretched. I rolled my Lexus fenders w/o a problem, but didnt know our cars can't be rolled.

I looked into rolling guards but was advised against it. Mine rubs slightly where the rear guard meets the rear bumper when I have some weight in the back. My wheels are 20x9.5 with 285/25 Pirelli's.
So rolling is not recommended then, huh? Let's keep my fingers crossed that the bigger spring pads will help reduce/eliminate the chance of rubbing in the rear. Or else, I might shave the inner hub a bit or put 265/30 at the worst.

Unfortunately, we just got around 15-20cm of snow last night... so springtime will never come soon enough.

Forgot to post this photo of the Spring Pads.
On the Left, Pad #4 (Part # A 210 325 04 84) - 17mm
On the Right, Pad #3 (Part # A 210 325 03 84) - 13mm <- This one is standard on the C63
.
This car needs a quality coilover set with better dampening.

I'm not worried about ride stiffness as the H&R street spring have only a slightly higher spring rate than the stock coils (of course if you ask them they will not tell you what the rate is). I'm also not worried about rubbing as I don't think I'm going to go larger with wheels/tires (I've been down that path with my C43 and MBZ just doesn't give you any room to play with). I think ride height on the H&R springs i've seen looks fine and you can play around with spring pads to clean it up front to back. What I am most worried about is too much negative rear camber that can't be adjusted out without installing dog bones and weird spring noises (usually caused by coil bind). The rear tires go away fast enough without ended up with more than -1.2 neg in the back.
Anyways, I'm in no particular hurry as I'm still messing with the 996TT.
