Premium unleaded only !!

Sometimes people don't look at things in perspective. We all waste money in soooo many ways or would pay through the nose for things that are much cheaper elsewhere...

I see the market dropping on big engined Mercedes shortly.
Time to get some good deals if gas price is no issue
Based on the fact that the hybridized versions of the various vehicles (the Prius being the exception as it is a hybrid only model), have around a $5000 to $10000 premium over their regular versions, and based on a standard 12000 miles per year, the various hybrids would take far longer to recoup any savings based on the cost of gas over the life of the car.
At one point, there was a Honda accord hybrid, it was V6 based, but it only got about 3 to 5 mpg more then its regular counterpart, and cost $10k more. The emissions were not exactly stellar either, which is why it was only sold and built for about 2 or so years.
In fact, go read this.. http://www.greencarreports.com/blog/...know-which-one
The only hybrid that actually has a positive ROI, is the freaking Mercedes S400 hybrid...
Another mythical fairly tail that these hybrid lovers are spewing out of their mouths. Hybrids don't save enough $$ to make any financial sense. That's been confirmed! The popular belief that hybrids help the environment is another concept that is filled with false hopes. The batteries in hybrids require precious metals that are mined in China or Canada, then sent to Europe to be refined, then in turn sent to Japan for installation into the cars and finally sent to whereever they are sold causes far greater environmental damages then a 6.2 liter MB engine. http://greenliving.lovetoknow.com/Hy...nmental_Impact
I'll keep my gas guzzling Merc because I can and I apparently love supporting the Saudis! lolz
The Best of Mercedes & AMG

No complaints about gas here as many said you gotta pay to play. To some extent though there HAS to be and WILL be a point at which no matter how much $$ you make you'll say 'enough is enough'.
Some people on here make it seem like they are driving an SLS AMG (200k+) cars when in reality we are driving 60-70k cars....
Entry level C class fella's. Let's not get carried away.
Most people set aside enough for these types of scenarios not to mention gas price increases. But if gas became $20/gallon, I don't care if your making $250k/yr, you will still have to make some lifestyle changes IF your even able to keep the car.
The worst part is gas stations here do not even let you go over $75 on one credit card swipe so i need to put the pump away, re swipe the card and pump again just to fill up the other half of the tank!

It lessens the pain at the pump

No wonder you are calling the rest of us "P***y Sh*t".
With fuel prices for premium escalating everyday, you might be tempted to use a midgrade fuel or God forbid regular unleaded.
But be warned... Even with the high fuel prices only use premium fuels. The vehicle was designed and built for performance so anything less is not recommended. The lower the octane the more detonation will occur in the combustion chamber causing quenches which is combustion before the piston reaches top dead center, this will retard ignition causing low power output and with time excessive carbon build up on the piston tops and cylinder head which can lead to rough idle, long cranking time during start up, knocking noise in engine on light throttle acceleration and sometimes knocking when engine is cold. Some cases can cause oil consumption due to sticking piston rings from carbon. Carbon build up is not covered under warranty. Some people say gas is gas..... If that is true then why do Motorsports teams use special racing fuel? And why do gas station have different grades? Wouldn't it be in the manufactures best interest to tell customers they can use regular gas?
I watch people constantly use regular fuel in vehicles that require premium every time I'm at the pumps... Very sad.
