Try this at home, Ok don't
Driving tonight in empty parking structure and noticed something:
In S I was driving slow as it short shifted to 3. Then (for giggles) I floored the throttle and let go in a quick continous motion. The transmission seemed to get confused with this: the engiene revved and transmission shifted down to 1 and the car engiene-braked without rev matching.
I tried it again on the freeway (well in retrospect one might consider that a dumbass move) this time cruising in 5 and it did the same thing down to 3rd gear.
Nothing useful about this but just stating my experience. I also don't think the car appreciates this kind of behavior from its driver.
Is there an explanation to this?

a car that can't do the throttle reset.
