Great C63 Motor Trend article

haha:

"After long conversations about compression ratios and fuel stratification over fish tacos, an AMG engineer mentioned that the C63 was getting a subtle refresh and he hoped to see me at that event. This offhand comment flipped a switch in my head that triggered an emotional response as if he had kicked my dog. Refreshing the C63? That car needs nothing. You don’t tell a guy his girl could stand to lose a few pounds, and you don’t tell him one of his favorite cars needs a little work...."

Who doesn't like fish tacos??

It would be nice to have the carbon ceramics as an option here, but I think the cost/benefit is simply ridiculous. I'd just as soon get the brembo gtr.

North America will get the sedan and coupe, but the wagon is held for regions with large populations of buyers who appreciate cool cars.

I had a 2007 S4 wagon, tuned and a such a blast to drive...
It's a shame the states always get the short end of the stick when it comes to cars.

Man, I just can't get over Carbon Ceramic Rotors in the front in the Performance Package. What a deal!

With many cars I would agree, they are a stand alone option priced at several thousand dollars for all four wheels. But this article claims they are included in the new performance package for the front wheels only, along with forged internals, an extra 30+ HP and some other cosmetic goodies. That may be the best $6,000 you could spend anywhere.

I wonder if he meant compound brakes rather than carbon ceramic ones? I also read somewhere that the Wagon maybe a special order car for the US. I wonder.....

This is what I was thinking too.
I'd be very surprised if the CC brakes would be offered, let alone incl in the P31.
I think they are like a 12K option on the SLS, so doubtful they'd throw 'em in.

Based on another article, the sedan will be available in the US upon special request.

I hope he means the wagon.
It's strange though, I've seen the estate/wagon versions of so many other cars here so I don't think it is a safety/regulation issue preventing it from being imported right?
The excuse of "lack of interest or demand" doesn't really make sense either; it is an AMG which is for the most part a custom car that has to be built overseas and specially brought in anyways, so it is not like they would have problems with any C63 wagons collecting dust here.

I think some marketing consultant from the US, who ****** himself for all the German manufacturers (but obviously not Cadillac), has been telling them American enthusiasts don't like sport wagons. I regularly rant amongst friends of mine who also have high-performance car habits, and I regularly hear they don't get it either. They want S6 Avants and M5 Tourings and C63 Estates. But they can't get them.

I hope the article that mentioned the Estate would be available in the US "as a special order" is true. I seriously doubt it, but I can hope...
